They may lack in defensibility and 2 laser mounts... but they'll make circles around you like it's noone's business. ;)

What are these "red triangles" and "LRM's" you speak of?

Sorry... couldn't resist...

SWEET!! What a good double dose for this morning!! First i get to see a great Godzilla face-palm "Death by Oriony" that was awesome, then a link to "Orion" from Metallica, one of my favorite songs from that record.
And Alex, props man, only you guys could keep the Orion ugly as hell but still make it a more "Functional Ugly"!! This redesign keeps the core mech while making it look more like a utilitarian workhorse mech, which is what it was always referenced as. Cant wait to see what you do variants wise. Keep up the great work! ;)

I CALLED IT!!

(Well...I've been calling it for about the last 6 months or so ;))

And it's every bit as awkward, ugly and ungainly looking as an Orion should be. Like a freshly hatched raptor foetus.

So we're waiting for:
Highlander
Trebuchet
Spider
Blackjack
and now the Orion.

The ultimate tease.

*cracks whip* Back to work PGI. Time's-a-wasting... ;)

Wonderful, this has been my favorite Mech since MW2 Mercenaries! Now the super long wait for it to be implemented. :)

EDIT: Also, looks like they sided with the torso srm4 instead of the arm one (damn TRO Text / Art / Stat mismatch!). Personally I liked the arm mounted srm4 look.

I am okay with this.

Also what took you so long PGI?

Edit: Also guessing but based on what the image shows it's armament is

2x PPC
LRM15
SRM4
AC5

Sarna says:
AC10
2x ML
LRM15
SRM4

Well being 50% right isn't bad.

I believe they have the mechs done already (the concept art, at least) and only hold back their releases.

Totally agree!
The head could be different (and smaller) but I'm too happy to complain.

EDIT: When you do the orthos, Alex, please consider making the cockpit a little smaller and less centered. This is a brawler and it needs to fight until the last point of armor, like the Atlas.

EDIT2: I'm actually terrified by how big the head hitbox will be.

Just to clarify from my personal POV:
The left-right centering is great, and it should remain so! :)
The cockpit could, IMO, stand to be a bit smaller relative to the 'Mech as a whole, and sit further upward. :)

I love the new design. One thing I will miss (and Im sure I will get over) is how the old head always seemed to be just off-center, to the left.

But as usual I love the work Alex.

Thanks for fixing that godawful cockpit! I loved the mech but it was unplayable for me in other MW games because everyone decided to keep that big bar down the middle of the head.

Look to the skies from the green fields of terra and you will see the hunter every night. The brightest constellation, the fiercest god amongst the stars...you will see him, and he will not pause.

Every night he hunts...and there are few that excape his shots.

*********

In other words **** YEAH!

This is good, another Marik Mech to steal as salvage! :D
Okay so I have the Stalker and the Orion, but the #1 mech I want isn't in this yet.

Stalker and Orion are NOT "Marik Mechs" They're the two most common Heavy and Assault mechs respectively in the Inner Sphere. Every House uses them extensively.

Your source is false. The Snub-Nosed PPC was not even introduced until 3067 by the Draconis Combine.

RE-Introduced. It was a Star League era weapon that the abilty to make was lost during the Succession Wars (The Houses probably never had that tech in the first place actually, just the Terran Hegemony)
