Iv never heard of a orion with ECm but dosnt mean its impossible. The orion has been called a 'poor mans atlas' due to having watered down setup like an atlas D and much of its stock hardpoints are like those you see on a atlas (lasers in the arms, autocannon on the right hip, LRMs and SRMs in the left torso ect ect).

The orion has always proven to be a sturdy but board mech and iv enjoyed it when it popped up in a few MW games in the past. I suspect in MWO you will see it standard issue with 2erppc/1gauss but its got some solid missile slots allowing for it to be a pretty well rounded support mech, im hoping it will have a good manuverability (in terms of turn rate/torso twist radius) to be in better line with how the original was treated more as a brawler (Lrms to soften up the other guy, then pound him to dirt with ac/laser/srms) but we will see.

You can already do marauder loadouts with the Cataphract-3D

Any idea when this is coming out? I heard June, but I don't remember if that was official or speculation.

Should be the 2nd june patch, followed by the victor in july and then the flea (assuming the speed caps allow it by then)

Did that once. MAD-3R loadout. Sucks, even with double heat sinks. better use an AC/10 or 2 AC/2.

not a big BT guru either but from the concept art it looks like it'll be taller than a cataphract so it probably won't have as much of a gorilla arm issue when trying to fire over hills etc. It also has a rather balanced loadout so you can have weapons for all ranges and travels at 64 Km/h which for heavies is a pretty decent speed.

It all depends how they place the hitboxes, but yes the entire torso should be rather bulky.

After all, lore states a "spacious interior" as one of its quirks.

Whenever I've seen one on the table or in an online game, Orion's tend to zombie until late and then have *all* the ammo detonate at once.

Will have to see how it goes in this setting.

Argh, you can't simulate a marauder. You need the look of it. I like especially the redesigned one of Shimmering-Sword:

Who said "not anymore"? If I didn't miss something they just changed the schedule and we should get the Orion later.

Alex, can you tell us what the hell happened to cause the Orion to be delayed 3-4 MONTHS when PGI had, what, over six months to finish it?

I just meant no Orion this release. I'm bummed because it was one of my favorite TT mechs and the 18th is my birthday. So I thought it was a happy coincidence. I'll get it when it comes out, but the excitement for it has faded with the delay.
