Depends on how hardset (See:Stubborn) they are about sticking with the whole "Light - Medium - Heavy - Assault" release schedule. August is slated to be a Light month but its highly unlikely they have MASC working properly to field the Flea. They could skip two phases (Light and medium) to field the already announced and much anticipated Orion, skip light in favor of a hidden medium or more likely crank out a unannounced Light mech.
Odds are not looking in the Orions favor, but im holding onto my cbills to see what comes out of the gate. If its a flea im getting some victors, if its a orion or a more interesting light like a panther , wolfhound or even a Urbanmech then ill go that route instead.

orion release means we'd have an extra heavy in the cycle. but they could always just deduct a heavy mech from another cycle

wasn't that from MechWarrior tactics instead of being simply a repaint?
No, the Orion in MechWarrior Tactics looks pretty different.
One of the better MWT designs in my opinion. Not overly chunky and toyetic like a lot of their 'mechs seem to be. And the pseudo-skull cockpit is an interesting choice, sort of reinforcing the idea of the Orion as the mini-Atlas. Although that artwork appears to be flipped, the missiles are supposed to be on the 'mech's left and the ballistic weapon on the right...

And the Orion is their poster boy for Field Manual: Free Worlds League.
No, but you can hardly expect FWL fans to be satisfied with a 'mech which is uncompetitive.
"Most" is speculative. And the Awesome would be their #2.
Not really. It's the Lyrans who are hurting for their signature 'mechs right now, though their signature is kind of just "anything big and slow."
(Underlined 'mechs = strongly associated or exclusive to that faction, italic=widespread but somewhat associated with that faction)
FWL/Marik
Awesome
Trebuchet
Stalker
Spider
Federated Suns/Davion
JagerMech
Victor
Centurion
Blackjack
Cataphract
Lyran Commonwealth/Steiner
Commando
Draconis Combine/Kurita
Dragon
Jenner
Catapult K2
Spider
Capellan Confederation/Liao
Catapult
Cataphract
Raven
Blackjack
I know the orion is on the field manual. Your original statement was that the stalker is not iconic to FWL. I don't see how that image disproves my point that the stalker is iconic to FWL. It simply shows that Orion is also iconic, something i never denied in the first place.
And i'm not sure even using variants as well as crossusing mechs in your factions list is giving it much credibility.
and yes the lyrans do need their zeus

Except that October will already have a light mech, the Locust. Usually what follows a medium is a heavy mech.
If I were PGI, I would release two mechs just for September, in order to celebrate MWO's 1.0 release. Maybe the Flea, at least the non MASC versions at first, along with the Orion.

Getting really curious as to why they're holding back on not only our first 75 tonner, but one as iconic as the orion.
............That and I've got like, over 50 million cbills on hand that I'm perfectly willing to blow on this mech.
