I dont get why people have such bad luck with PPC,ive watched people in my unit dominate games with PPC.

http://youtu.be/Tupxi0e60Pk

I play from the UK,latency around 120,only been using PPC's for a few days.

This video is typical of a good dozen or so games when i used this mech, only reason i caught this on FRAPs was because the day before i did nearly the same thing, with multiple other games getting 4,5 and 6 kills.

And yes i am shamelessly bragging.

What I find weird though is that if I alpha PPC, SRM and Laser on same mech they all launch at different times with the PPC (or balistic) always the last to fire so fires in order of laser, SRM then PPC. This seems to happen even if I use 3 mouse buttons with presssing PPC first lasers last. Also if the delay was constant within each match I wouldn't mind so much. Other night ping stable at 95 (lower than the normal 110 I get) press fire .5 second delay fire again 2 second delay next shot 1 second. Makes trying to hit anything not moving directly towards/away from you nearly impossible even if its slow moving. Also guy I play with from Canada who has a sub 50ms ping was having the same problem. So more of a server issue (?) than a true latency issue otherwise all weapons would fire with similar delay (as a guess)

Not true, because hitscan weapons such as lasers are handled CLIENT SIDE while ballistic like weapons are handled SERVER SIDE hence the difference.

Lasers don't have delayed firing like ballistics do, but they are still affected by lag. The beams and hit-graphics will show up wherever you're pointing, but you still need to lead moving targets or the server won't think you're hitting anything regardless of what it looks like on your own screen.

I too have found that the PPCs are missing. I shot a Spider 5D square in the torso (what should have been a kill shot). The Spider was overheated and not moving, but when I fired it didn't even register the hit. It was like the bolt passed right through the mech. It's not the first time I've noticed this either, but the first time I've had definitive proof. I was running the Raven 4X at the time, and I was barely moving b/c my leg was blown off.

I have all the piloting enhancements through elite and had the shot lined up for about 2 sec before taking the shot because it was going to be the kill shot and I wanted to make certain he wasn't getting away. My average ping is about 90 and was running in the mid 80s for this particular battle so I highly doubt any kind of lag was involved.

This seems to be a more recent thing as the last time I was running my 9M I was barely ever missing and that included scouts. This is a weapon I'm generally very capable with.

THe developers said that after fixing the lasers they'll work on the ballistics and PPC (since it acts like a ballistic).
