Graphics Go Blocky For No Reason

Since the latest patch, I sometimes see blocks where textures should be when starting a new match. Text, for example, appears as a bunch of rectangles where the individual letters would be. This is alco accompanied by an extremely slow framerate, better measured in seconds-per-frame than frames-per-second. I would show you a screencap of this, but the support board doesn't actually work - when trying to embed the screenshot and post, the board helpfully told me that I "must enter a post." Apparently, it's not smart enough to figure out that the text box wasn't empty - does the support board have a support board?

Anyway, prior to the patch, I'd sometimes get the slow framerate but not the blockiness. I have a Core i7 860 (2.8 GHz), 2GB of RAM, and a Radeon 4850 graphics card. It's not fancy, but it should be able to run the game at minimum settings and a modest resolution of 1280x1024.

So, is there anything I can do about this, or will I need to buy a spare NASA supercomputer to handle the graphics?

I would recommend trying a re-install of the game to see if it will address the blocks, but it could be that someone is using a different language keyboard input (haven't seen this issue myself, so I am making wild guesses here).

Or to be an evil guy, I recommend upgrading your graphics card and more RAM. =S

Some questions first. Be aware that issues do crop up after playing the game for abit without restarting the client for many players.

It is the first few combat drops after starting up the game or is it after several drops?
Does it issue resolve itself only after restarting the game, or does it go away after the next combat drop without restarting the game?

You can post a pic but it must be saved online somewhere.

This happened to me today as well. Started a game, everything was fine for a few seconds and then everything turned to rectangles and my fps went to almost nothing. All the textures vanished and I was left with only the green background, and where textures should have been there were only rectangles with matching colors.

Happens to me after playing more than 1 or sometimes 2 maps. I can play the same map back to back to back, but this doesn't happen often with the way match making works. I to have restart the game before every match. I would have to guess it has to do with a combo of drivers and the game itself.

Z77+3570
GTX275 SLI, 301.42 drivers (the only ones that work with my setup)
16GB Ram

I never experienced this on my old system: x58+920, 6GB ram, same video cards. Same or older drivers.

This is what I see when it happens. It's as if all the textures have gone missing. Alt-tabbing out and returning will sometimes restore the cockpit but leave the world blue, textureless, and with afterimages. And in all cases, the framerate drops to around 1-2 fps.

I have that happen to me every couple of matches (like every 10 or so) a client restart fixes the issue for me.
