Nightsky, there is something dirty about jumping around in massive bounds with nowt but pulse lasers and a hatchet .. but sometimes, sometimes you just need to feel a little dirty.

The Archer was always my favorite, followed by the stinger and wasp.

I always underplayed the Nightsky; I think it's because the first time I took it out, I didn't even get into medium range before my friend tore out all my internals with a couple of shots to the LT/RT. Pretty much took off my hatchet, and most of my weapons. Never gave it a second chance, though I always meant to.

Also: If that figure is one you painted, then I gotta give respect to the 'Insert Hatchet into Head' on the hatchet blade. XD Reminds me of another blade I painted on one of my figures that I put 'Beauty' and 'Truth' on, so that my opponents could be killed by Beauty and Truth as an ironic statement.

Aye she is mine, I have a habit of graffiti-ing plenty of my 'Mechs. Just look at the amount of 'customisation' during World War II, and plenty of 'Mechs are privately owned in Battletech so I figured ..

I will always love the Piranha. People see this little 20 ton Clan battlemech, totally second line, and they think, "Eh, what's the big deal?"

12 Machineguns is a big deal.

Even if there's no infantry on the table the little sucker is so fast you can just dart around the edges of the map, out of range until it's time to rush in for point blank rear armor love.

I played a game once running a Fafnir, Warhammer, Hunchback and Piranha (Merc Salvage ftw!). The enemy is running 3 Bandersnatches, and a Hunchie. All the enemy machines are focusing on these gigantic guns I'm bringing to bear. "Oh no, look out for the Heavy Gauss! Oh no, look out for the AC/20! Watch out for those PPCs!"

And my Piranha zips in behind them to just spray their rear torsos to pieces from the left flank. And suddenly it's, "Do I shoot this little annoying ******* and turn my rear torso to the big guns, or do I shoot down the big guns and then finish off this little guy?"

They made the wrong choice.

Piranha killed all three Bandersnatches that day. It was glorious.

I kinda hope the Piranha is one of the Clan second-line mechs they introduce. If Spiders and Locusts are MG terrors right now, then that thing is going to inspire true fear. Imagine having your torso armour stripped by a laser, exposing your delicate internals, including the two or three ammo bins for your big guns and missiles....and then a Piranha runs over a nearby hill.

Time to start screaming.

Guilty pleasure mech? The Charger.Specifically the CGR-1A1. 5 small lasers for an 80 ton chassis. What's not to love?

Also, there is something incredibly smexy about the Emperor that I can't quite put my finger on.

The PNT-9R Panther. Simple easy to use a 35 ton terror in 3025. Always a great choice in a starter merc company.

The Deimos was later made canon though, partially due to the sad story around it.

That Warthog, even though it's non-canon, doesn't seem dramatically over powered or over armoured, and seems like a pretty decent design. I'd probably run it if I could.

Usually I have an issue with non-canon mechs, but this one seemed pretty decent to me.

Sirocco, Beowulf, Viper/Dragonfly, WLF-1 Wolfhound (wtf were they thinking taking that head off the other 1 series variants?), Vixen, Pack Hunter, and Snow Fox. The Snow Fox and Viper are just fun to derp around in.

The Annihilators. Quad LB10XACs... That's a whole bunch of damage rolls to stall a TT game, and annoy the p!ss out of everyone.
