Joystick vs Keyboard & Mouse

I prefer joystick, it makes the game feel more real.
I used to use the Force Feedback Pro for MW4, to bad microsoft haven't made drivers for it and it just sits on my shelf collecting dust. Best stick ever made IMHO .
Anyone have a suggestion on a good replacement?

While i do agree that the mouse is better for quick aiming and such, the joystick just adds a whole new level of immersion and fun

Been using Saitek for a number of years, after my MS Force Feedback Pro broke from too the abuse playing too much MW4 causes.
I'm playing WoT using the keyboard and mouse and it actually feels a bit natural. The only issue with MW4 would be throttle control on the keyboard. I honestly don't know how some guys did it, but I know quite a few guys who played MW4 with mouse and keyboard and they were quite good.

If targeting was slowed down and not pin-point, I absolutely would use a joystick because I agree with you, much much more immersion. That's not the case here however, joysticks just aren't as accurate as mice are in a video game. It's why I always prefer keyboard and mouse over console controller in FPS too (Well part of why, I just can't stand console controllers beyond the PS3).

I too will be using a joystick ( Saitek X54 system ) for the first time in a Mechwarrior game. But like others have said, if mouse targeting is much more precise then a joy, I'll quickly go back to the old stand-by; keyboard and mouse. I enjoyed using keyboard/mouse only in most mechwarrior games. Started off playing mw2/netmech with no joystick and was pretty damn good, hopefully I don't have 10+ years of rust built up.

Keyboard & Mouse, mice these days have no downside with extra buttons, laser tracking and dpi sensitivities.

Mouse is easier in MWLL, but I really do prefer the feel of a joystick. Since weapons don't track immediately to where you aim in MWO, I'm hoping that a joystick setup will be near to the same capabilities of a keyboard setup.
As for the death of flightsims, IL2 CoD, IL2 1946, Flaming Cliffs 2, and the DCS series are all very good. I higly recommend DCS A-10C FrostPaw. It's a study sim, so just about every switch and system works like it does in the real plane.

Joystick , keyboard combo is what most find the best , bad thing is the best joystick was a MS sidewinder pro and i dont think they make them anymore , logitechs Ext 3d pro works great but gets a fade (moves left or right without being touched) after playing awhile and others are made cheaply , im going to try a thrustmaster with side throttle if or when game goes live . < S > have played mpbt ,mpbt 3025 ,Mechwarriors (all),Inner Sphere Wars, Exteel ,Armored Core, using joystick/keyboard
Mechcommander(all)(keyboard/mouse)
hope this helps < S >

The wingman is reliable and accurate enough. The buttons on the joystick are comfortable.. And I tend to ignore the ones on the base entirely. I like to use the throttle on my n52 and that is a good number of other buttons as needed right there comfortable as can be.

alongside a razer nostromo... Best of both worlds...
(x52 has seperate throttle control and joysitck -one for each hand) while the nostromo is for the extra buttons and macros that I may need (weapon grouping, radar/startup/hud controls)
although, I do have a trackball as a fall back should things be a little hard with a joystick.
as a side note,
I would be tempted to try the razer hydra... If I had one
