Hi guys!
I just played around with the MWO mechlab and wonder if this Catapult-C1 build is viable because I am not a fan of LRMs but still want to use my founders mech.
Engine 290
9 Double Heat Sinks
Endo Steel
2 PPCs
2 Medium Pulse Laseres
It's a few million investement and thats why I'd like to ask you before trying :-)
Hope you can give me some advice.

It's the same as a K2 almost so it should be alright, but have you played with PPCs before?

They move much faster, but they are still quite hot. I think you can safely fire 2 with 19 double heat sinks though but it will start getting really hot if you include the 2 MPLs.
My Awesome with 22 DHS seems to do fine with 3 PPCs. I wouldn't expect your mech to keep up with the heat if you fire the medium pulse lasers with them though.

I just took the MPLs to defend myself while in the minimum range of the PPCs. Probably SPL would do fine too?

No, Small Pulse Lasers are pretty bad right now. If you don't plan on firing the PPCs with the MPLs then they should be alright.
According to my craptastic spreadsheet (might be totally inaccurate!) you should be going up around 4.38% heat per second with the dual PPC shots (this increases with moving and goes down a bit if you have the Cool Run and that other heat efficiency unlocked, I haven't entered those in my Excel yet). That means around 13% heat each salvo every 3 seconds if you fire non-stop. If you fire just the MPLs you should be relatively heat neutral.
If you go XL you might be able to add more heatsinks and maybe some Streaks or SRMs for more close-range support. I'm at work so I can't play around with my C1 at the moment.

You could always try 3xLL 2xSRM6. Good punch. Viable at mid and short range. You don't have to fear lights if you're a reasonable shot (just aim for the legs). I prefer brawling in general, but LRMs are quite viable as well with 2xLL. You just have to take a TAG with all the ECMs around. It's actually quite satisfying to Tag the ECM Atlas or Ravens that feel invincible and watch them try to scurry away (without success) when they realize that shaking that wont stop is 100 missiles raining down on their supposedly invisible head .
