The equation for who wins is:
((Tonnage + Alpha)/DPS)+Pilot Skill+ECM/TAG.
You can have a weight and damage advantage, but be a poor pilot and not have TAG to counter ECM and lose.
You can be a lower weight with more consistent damage and be an average pilot with ECM and win.
You can be a heavier weight with staggering alpha and abysmal piloting with ECM and lose.
