Yes, I'm new to the game but seriously? 80 tons of steel and a nuclear reactor and my billion dollar fighting system can't see it 200 feet away?

Flame away but come on, either there is something wrong with my settings or these things, at full dead runs (so not shutting down and hiding), have some ability I don't know about.

See it visually or through a red little radar square.

If it's the latter, that would be ECM doing that.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say troll..

No, the mechs do not have an invisibility ability. You must have a terribly latency to the point it seems like others are disappearing and reappearing at new locations.

He's not a troll. He said he is new to the game and probably doesn't know about the ECM.

I was thinking that he was talking about the 3d models of the mech that he sees through his cockpit window and not the triangles on the radar.

OP - thermal view is your friend and helper (even on Caustic) if you have difficulties not recognizing a mech because it is under the influence of electronic counter measures..

Latency makes all the difference. I once hit a Jenner in the back with my AC20 and it died a full 2 seconds later.
Yes, my ac20 had a delayed death effect haha.

ECM forces you to use an even more advanced targeting system, the Mk-I Eyeball.
