I was in my Stalker 5S last night and I started taking fire. Betty called out an Ammo Explosion when my leg got breached, but I have case and that should have only been 2/6 of my LRM ammo caches. Immediately after my AE, I could no longer fire my LRMs. I noticed that I was being jammed at about that same time, but I didn't think ECM could completely prevent LRMs from being fired (i.e. dumb fired). As you can see on my weapon readout, my LRMs go completely dark, as if they are destroyed and remain that way until I die.

Was this the all-mighty power of ECM, a glitch, or an unexplained phenomenon?

You were disrupted by an enemy ECM, look for the red 'low phone signal' icon on the right hand side of your view. When this is present, no locks are possible. It was a coincidence that your ammo exploded at roughly the same time.

Everything working as intended. You should have been able to dumb-fire.

Looks like you lost your leg, then side torso, then CT in a very short period of time. You did not lose all your ammo, it was still listed on the bottom right of your screen untill you lost your torso which also took out 2 of your LRM launcers, you still had 2 of them operational, but then you were dead.

I am not sure when you were trying to fire your LRMs, the last time I see you shoot them was at 26 seconds. I assume you were trying to fire more LRMs after this point?

ECM should not prevent you from "dumb firing" your LRMs. And if you had 2 tons of ammo in your leg that blew up then it will still take out your L torso, the CASE will prevent it from moving into your CT, but will not prevent the destruction of the left torso.

From what I could see, the cause of death was multiple enemies hammering you with weapons through your center torso.

a common cause of death in a Stalker actually

You were being jammed by enemy ECM, which prevented you from getting a missile lock, but I'm pretty sure you can still dumb fire... It's only streaks that can't fire without a lock.

Were you trying to fire them without a lock? That's something we can't really tell from the video.

From what I could see, the cause of death was multiple enemies hammering you with weapons through your center torso. Unrelated to the ammo explosion. It didn't even seem like your ammo exploded, unless they changed the speed of it and sound effects.. Your leg structure stayed quite a while after it said your ammo was destroyed.. Which makes me think it didn't explode.
After a few seconds of not being able to get a lock (due to ECM jamming) I then tried to dumb fire a couple of times to see if my LRMs were dead or not....Nothing happened.

As for the leg struct damage; That's exactly what I thought. With how much ammo I had left, I'm amazed that didn't blow off my leg and torso and arm all in one go. This is why I was really confused.
