How sweet would a MOBA/Dota style game mode be? Everyone loves that stuff (myself included).

It wouldn't be too hard to implement a MOBA/Dota style game mode right? Respawns would have to be included, maybe exponentially increasing respawn time. Include creeps (tanks, srm/lrm carriers) and towers complete with a heavily defended base. Maybe a shop to buy consumables/ mech upgrades. Possibilities are endless, don't limit yourself.

I would hate for them to exactly emulate MOBA gameplay, but small tanks and bases with automated defenses would be fantastic.

Actually, I like the basic idea.
Two teams of mechs.
Each side gets a bunch of NPC/AI Infantry, Tanks, etc...
Both sides get to blow up lots of small stuff before engaging in glorious battle with their fellow mechwarriors.

Of course the implementation is key, not sure if it'd need respawns of not, perhaps dropship mode only.

Good troll 7/10 would read again.

I also recommend the shop sell paint jobs and cockpit items co you can change the look of the mech mid match

Do not think it is a good idea, too little penalty of dying, overall I think it is absurd to have respawn of any sort, and I certainly have no love of slugging one match hours long because suicidal lemmings that keeps 1-2 shotting each other keep pouring out.

While it is appreciated you share your idea and your liking, but there is a time and place. So far it doesn't seem like MWO is a place for respawn hell march, there are other games for that sort of .. erm.. taste.

I can relate to wanting respawn as a '2nd chance' because no one likes to get mauled in the first few minutes of the game and lose the ability to participate there on after, however that is the reality of it. If you make a mistake you die.

Dropship limit with a queue of mechs you can launch in the other hand... might be a compromise ground I am willing to look into, because there is a limit of what you bring so you won't throw the whole thing into chaos, and you get your second/third chance. It also means the heavier you drive the less units you can bring. Which brings our medium work horses to the table as being more desirable, however with the current lights I won't want this until they make lights paper fragile like how they are supposed to be.

MOBA = "Multiplayer Online Battle Arena"

Quote

Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), also known as action real-time strategy (ARTS), is a sub-genre of the real-time strategy (RTS) genre, in which often two teams of players compete with each other in discrete games, with each player controlling a single character through an RTS-style interface.

The objective is to destroy the opponents' main structure with the assistance of periodically spawned computer-controlled units that march towards the enemy's main structure via paths referred to as "lanes".

DotA = "Defense of the Ancients"

Quote

Defense of the Ancients (DotA) is a multiplayer online battle arena mod for the video game Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, based on the "Aeon of Strife" map for StarCraft.

The objective of the scenario is for each team to destroy the opponents' Ancients, heavily guarded structures at opposing corners of the map.
