This is so great.
My wife understands that anything Mechwarrior/Battletech will be consumed by me in some fashion. Heck, I bought a $200 Warhammer toy from Japan (it's sitting on my desk at work!). I'm looking forward to consuming this as well. :D

Can we see this "custom" mech? Would be interested in seeing what the design is (light medium heavy) does anyone know?

It's the Robotech version... that's the only way to actually get these models. In addition to the Warhammer (Destroid Tomahawk) there's a Marauder (Glaug Command Pod), Rifleman (Destroid Defender) and even Archer and Longbows. Of course, you can get Unseen versions of the Phoenix Hawk and Wasp as well. You can get most of the unseen as models... I'm aiming to build a full lance of them for my office to sit next to my BSG Cylon statuette (I know, super-geek B)). They're 1/72 scale, so they stand at about 8 inches tall, and they are fully posable.

There may be a way to get Battletech mech models.... but there's nothing official (that isn't meant for TT play) that I've found. There are a number of hobbyists that build mechs out of wood or other materials, but not more than a few at a time.

So far, it looks like Elite folks will get to choose between an Atlas, Jenner, Hunchback, or Catapult with a unique look. No word yet on if those are going to be only options or not. Or even if those are the options.

Hmmm just thought I could modify a Marauder (Glaug Command Pod), to make a Madcat but just seen a pic of it and it would mean basically building the torso from scratch.

If you reeeallly want a Mad Cat, you'll need to hunt down the Joyride Stuidos version. They're pretty rare since Joyride went under, but you can definitely find them on Ebay every now and then.

WizKids released a large Timber Wolf in several different color schemes around the time the clicky game first started, along with others like the Forestry 'Mech. I've got one in the arctic camo, very nice :o But they seem basically impossible to find these days. Here's a decent group of images:

I'm in like flint!

I'd REALLY like a phoenix Hawk (re-designed or otherwise), but I'd take an elite Atlas :o
