I think the Ion Cannon is actually better> 6LL stalker.

The point isn't to do a ton of damage overall. Yes your 2xLRM20s will do more damage in a round, but that damage is spread around everywhere. The 6PPCs however are CONCENTRATED firepower that will absolutely wreck any part they hit on a mech. Watch the videos, almost every time I hit someone I'm either blowing off components or coring them, if not outright killing them.

Seriously though, that 6ppc stalker looks like fun. When I'm done grinding xp to unlock all my awesomes, I might turn one of them into a 6ppc monster and see how that runs. And, indeed, it may not be a serious build, but sure as hell seems fun to play with. Just need to set up groups so you can fire anything from two to all six ppc:s in one salvo with a single keypress, and you'll have a bit more flexibility.
Lol, it's funny how fondly we can remember the days of trying to come up with a keyboard config to fly and shoot 3D games.
Although few combat games in my memory have been as entertaining as the good old X-Wing/Tie etc.
I remember there was a 3D shareware flyer called Descent 3D or something like that, around the times of Duke Nukem and the early Quake's. What a bear to fly, but a real blast too.
Going to be trying various versions of high-alpha stalkers, once I can grind out some C-bills for it (hint hint devs please fix economy so I can go back to earning some serious bills cough hint cough).
Don't think I would go 6PPC but some of these other builds have looked pretty tempting.

Oh I've done it a few times, that's how I know

Goes something like this:
Vdek has killed Krzysztof z Bagein
One second later
Vdek has killed Vdek

Are we watching the same video? The Atlas in frozen valley? Because I didn't miss him once in that video. My first shot was a little wonky and hit his legs because of missile shake, but every other shot was a direct hit... Notice the "COMPONENT DESTORYED 1500XP" on the side.

Eh, depends on how good of a shot you are.
I'm not sure what it was, but we ran into a team twice in a row on Wednesday, where two of them had some build that was one-shotting us left and right.

And there's one thing - after first alpha your heat is going up to about 80%, so if you fire second one right after PPCs cool down your heat will be like 140%. This should blow your mech up. Just a thought.
Yeah, I do as well, 6LL is far more flexible and useful, and just as deadly once you het used to fire one to get in target and then unleash the other five on the poor sob.

I can fire all 4 twice without overheating, and bursts of 40 damage coming your way every few seconds seems to make people hesitate to stay in the open for long. For less shure shots, I only fire two.
First game I got 3 kills and 4 assists. I took a shot at a heat signature coming over the frozen city ridge and got a headshot. Second game they knew what to do and we got rushed from 3 directions. They saved me for last because they were too close and too fast for me to find a target. Third game I got 3 kills again. Twice a mech came around a corner with a red center torso and just vaporised. The first one I could almost imagine the look on his face as he realised that it was game over... hilarious!
Im going to try it, but I think I can get 21 DHS with that...

Yeah yeah I saw a couple videos. 6 PPCs will hurt sure, but it's only 60 damage. And practically every time you fired you shut down and damaged your own internals.
The difference between that thing and the gat and the boomcat, it's a lol build.

I don't worry about lights, I kill them with one-two shots before they get in range. Besides that I stay close to my team for their support.
we saw that in your 3rd video :

+1 for the build its funny to play i guess... ( with a low ping )
but you have to say :"no light were harmed during production"
