Seriously though, that 6ppc stalker looks like fun. When I'm done grinding xp to unlock all my awesomes, I might turn one of them into a 6ppc monster and see how that runs. And, indeed, it may not be a serious build, but sure as hell seems fun to play with. Just need to set up groups so you can fire anything from two to all six ppc:s in one salvo with a single keypress, and you'll have a bit more flexibility.

This.
People wonder how you or others can get such good shots off, and truly its because of the years of CS learning how to aim at laggy people. Game maybe old, but those of us who have grown up using a mouse/kb will forever have high kills and use high skill weapons to deadly effect. These new kids and those....joysticks.....will never know the true control one has with a mouse.
Low ping != skill. That centurion is moving so smoothly, with a ping of 150-160 he would be jerking around like MJ doing the moonwalk and the PPCs would delay fire.
Not too much a fan of that 6 ppcs build, but then again I don't like one trick pony builds in general.

Was yesterday evening out dancing with such an Alpha strike Mech... ( dual Ac/20) i was standing right in front of him at 200 meters... and i fired and he fired... but he missed, because i had Hardbrake Kinetic Burst and swapped front backward speed randomly in the rythm of his guns....
that those people don't know when to chainfire it is not my problem.
Dodging AWP Goofs since 1997 putt lot of Experience up.
(i did it because i knew 3 Friendly was comming from the side and he stood nice parked there trying to hit me...)
Btw Backspace and then the Light will have hell of a time as it is raining lighting around him.
And everbody noticed that he DON't use ER PPC but PPC's? so he runs as hot as a Mech with 4 ER-PPC but has 50% more Damageoutputt ( for the people wondering that he don't explode on the first alpha)

Kills most light mechs in a single hit, and even some mediums if I get a side torso shot and they had XL.
Been called a hacker several times. People just were not used to getting killed in a single volley of weapons fire.

526 Armor
5 Large Lasers
5 SRM 6 (2 tons ammo)
Very limited life span of the SRM's but doing that much damage u dont need to fire very many times.
Yeah, run into such builds a few times (most have MedLas, though). Have killed my Jenner 2 times with just one shot (both in River City - turn around corner, say oh-oh and BANG! Dead.). At the ~120m where the SRM concentrate you can really punch a hole in anything (30SRM, if only half of them hit a Lights torso part its already goodbye).

Yes, that were the times! I trashed 3 or 4 Joysticks a year
Or remember Strike Commander? Try to hit the damn moving AAAs from far away with a release-and-please-hit bomb with a falling time of 30secs, because there were more targets then you could carry guided bombs (talk about hard games
Or the energy-distribution (and unreached sneaky missions, best mission design EVER) of Tie Fighter? Get some energy to the shields or better beeing fast? Or be able to shoot back?
But back to Topic.
I would really like to try the 6PPCer. I like the 2 PPC Jenner, but after the complete nerfing of JumpJets you can't do the Jumping Sniping - 60% less fun, 20% less efficiency.
Can you imagine a 6PPC Jumping Mech? Horror of the City.
The 6PPC build is clearly something only a team can use reliably. A 6PPC Awesome and 2 LRM+4Med Pulse Laser Hunchies with AMS could make a devastating "save" Fire Support group in open maps. 8Med Pulse Lasers can rip any Light coming in close and the LRM give additional pounding to anything that lives after the PPCing.

Considering how many premades ran back to 4 mans with their tails firmly between their legs, vs. the few with the fortitude to enter a tough fight against skilled opponents. I already know the answer.
SSRM boats, SRM boats, PPC boats, LRM boats, all of them have one fatal flaw and any team worth its salt will see it and take advantage of it immediately. Hell one good player in the right mech can destroy one of them in quick order.
...I can't count the times I've sacrificed myself (in the case of LRM/PPC) and demolished a pair of LRM boats, nor how many A1s I've clipped the ears off. Sure I get killed quickly, but rarely before I take one or two of their most powerful boats with me....
...with the SSRM/SRM boats I just clip the ears off at range and suffer no ill effects.
...I usually give better than I get

I can fire all 4 twice without overheating, and bursts of 40 damage coming your way every few seconds seems to make people hesitate to stay in the open for long. For less shure shots, I only fire two.
First game I got 3 kills and 4 assists. I took a shot at a heat signature coming over the frozen city ridge and got a headshot. Second game they knew what to do and we got rushed from 3 directions. They saved me for last because they were too close and too fast for me to find a target. Third game I got 3 kills again. Twice a mech came around a corner with a red center torso and just vaporised. The first one I could almost imagine the look on his face as he realised that it was game over... hilarious!

did you splice in old mechwarrior music? or does this game actually have music that i've been unaware of this entire time

This. Only needed to watch the first vid to know that it's a quite useless and especially boring build. You were in shutdown half of the time and standing still while aiming the other half.
But you're getting bonus points for your Beavis & Butthead impersonation.

And there's one thing - after first alpha your heat is going up to about 80%, so if you fire second one right after PPCs cool down your heat will be like 140%. This should blow your mech up. Just a thought.

It's not though... I missed about one shot per match, every other shot hit and either blew off a component right away or cored them and put the in them red in some part of their mech.

It won't blow up your mech, I wait until I hit 50% to fire again. However if you try to force your mech back on when it's above 100% then it will damage internal components. Your mech will blow up though if you fire when you're at ~90% heat...
