As long as last man standing on a defeated team is doing something a little more constructive than hiding powered down in a corner then I'm happy to watch his attempt to pull a hail mary. This guy will usually be a Hunchback, Jenner or Cicada.
If he's been less than constructive throughout the main period of the game to spare his mech in the hopes of a daft 'I'll kill all 8 of these now damaged mechs' showdown I find myself less than impressed. I'm hopeful a few times playing like this will show the futility of this approach. This guy will usually be an Atlas or Catapult who are playing a little TOO shy.
If he's combined excessive shyness with some 'now everyone else is dead i'll just run around some to stay alive' I get a little niggled. But hey, I guess this is the price of PUGing. Only for this guy do I think the OP's comments stand. Still, nothing is stopping me from exiting the match.
Some last man's efforts are awesome. I saw a Cicada 2A kill a Raven, Stalker and Muromets once in Frozen City with smart tactics. He drew the Raven away from the others and killed it, suffering significant damage in the process. He then baited the Muromets till it was out of Ammo, the less-than-wise pilot hadn't elected to include any energy weapons. Ignoring this now non-threat he easily stayed behind the Stalker, and we won. I feel bad that I can't remember his name.
Awesomes, Centurions, Commandos, Cataphracts and Dragons are your Honor mechs. We unleash hell and go down in glory, flames and blood. I bet you drive an Atlas tho...

Interesting thread.
My view is that I play for fun. If I played to win I would not be playing as I'm a poor, but hopefully improving, mechwarrior. As such I find the idea of duelling in an 6+ versus 1 situation appealing. The worst games I have is when I am smashed by 6+ mechs all hitting me at once.
Honour has its place, but it is a personal thing. What one person considers honour, another considers an out-dated ideal. My advice is to keep true to your ideals and not dictate to others on what honour is. I will say one thing about honour though. Most mercenaries have some sort of honour code. Anyone who just kills for money cannot be trusted to keep to thier contract and would soon find themselves employed only by those who are happy to do the same.
