You have a right to know if someone on your team is terribad. Make the stats public. Make a public searchable database with ALL THE STATS. And if someone is bad, the database should put "bad" next to their name.

k/d ?

i stated it before.. k/d means nothing...
for ppl who have a low k/d :

get a fast mech ( 1 you feel comfortable with ... but with fast i mean realy fast ) ...

use ppc or gaus or even a ac20 ( if you have the hardpoints ) ... stay out of every direct fireline... wait until the inner armor goes near to boom.. sprint out.. killshot and cya.
if your team is losing.. look for a safespot ( lag out ) or shutdow.

a friend of me did that with a new account.. 13.50 k/d after 50 matches... there goes ya k/d bubble lol

not to mention that earlier lrm boats had a k/d way higher as 20.0 ^^

i'd love to do that but an aussie ping rate 250-300 means that going faster than 80 is a slideshow, i've spectated jenner pilots and feel sick at the constant jittereing and lagging that occours. so i've been an assault sniper for a long time and now i'm just managing to survive knifefights but the lag fest still continues. believe me i'd be in a jenner or comando with ppc's in a heart beat but you know... kinda got fond of my awesomes. they maybe outclassed by stalkers and twirled into oblivion by lights and some mediums but it's fun. that's what a game is about and that's all i'm here for other than giving beta feedback.

also if it's win/loss that matters then you must realise that's well out of individuals hands by definition that it's a team game, i'd never judge anyone by the win/loss cause i know that the pilot in question could have a great avg xp which means it was many other players that could've lost the team wins for him.

just give us the ablility to bid team matchs choose what maps radar on or off night or day peasoup fog on or off and the ability to get everyone in the same room and rdy up and drop in a match with another team we choose....
then report the win/loss to SL/VL/mbt or what ever other league we choose to play in.

There is no benefit to having ELO/MM rankings public.

A lot of players want it and it will allow players to group up with people who are equal skill. Which is the entire reason PGI implemented the Elo system.

Public ELO leads to bad behavior.

No matter what PGI does people will abuse / behave badly. They would have to remove stats all together to avoid that and people would just behave badly for other reasons (Cbill grinding)

What bad behavior do you mean? People will actually try to win to raise their Elo?

People right now are capping the enemy base to 99% then stopping so they can get dmg/kills, is that not bad behavior?

I like the idea of making this an option:

Show Stats: On
Show Stats: Friends (only)
Show Stats: Off

That way the people who want to show them can, and those people who want privacy have it.

making them public is a bad idea, then this game will have those people who will not let people join their merc corps etc etc even if they have bad stats because they just started playing.

for a free to play game this is insane as it would drive players away
have the stats as they are now, where the user can see them and decide to share them if they want to.

if pgi let people see them isnt it a bit lke naming and shaming bad players, who cares if they are bad if they are contributing financially to the game

Since the matchmaker does that for you, you don't have to know what your MM/Elo score is. You just enjoy the improved matchmaking.

Do not give people additional reasons to act badly. The tournament over the weekend was a great example of how people can be encouraged to behave badly to increase a number. I saw a number of people in the top 10 on one of the lists disconnecting before death to maximize the # of games... and that was still a mostly opaque process.

Or lose/grief to lower their Elo so they can stay in a 'sweet spot' of 'easy games'. Or use Elo as a way to denegrate people on the forums or in game... we've all seen it in other games.

It's just not good for the community. Keep it hidden.

/shrugs/ I personally would play only Team Deathmatch if I had the option, so my opinion on capture behavior is probably not an unbiased one.
