In tabletop, there was a point to walking (instead of running all the time), your shots were 1 BTH lower, piloting skill rolls were 1 BTH easier, and you generated less heat. Also could make gyro and leg crit pilot checks easier.
In MWO, there really isn't a point to going slower than full speed, unless you need to stop).
So give some benefit for going less than full speed. Or conversely, make running add noise to your reticule position, make your cockpit shudder, or generate heat (does it do so now? I don't notice at all).

If they had cone of fire, where if you was moving ~45%, you would have no cone of fire, but if you was moving faster, it would increase in size.
Could also increase the amount of heat generated by movement.

there is a slight increase in heat but I'd like to see it bigger so the small speedy mechs should have to choose to fire a lot or run fast.
Also some weapon wobble which go worse above 50% throttle would be a good balance. At the moment I am still tired of getting ripped apart by jenners and ravens with SSRM and med lasers who are too fast to target.

When youre moving faster you cover ground faster, covering ground faster means that you are overcoming obstacles in your path faster. This results in more movement of your target reticle whether its small bumps or big obstacles which requires adjustments in aim if youre firing while moving.
The stupid TT rules cannot all be incorporated into a game, its not feasable, it wouldnt be fun and it would be a pain in the butt for the devs to even try to balance things then.
Think of all the unmentioned TT rules that people would hate to have in the game and that havent been brought up because of the fact that they would negatively affect all pilots in a way none of us would desire.
