Oh.. you just had to bring up those 3... Love the Marauder... used those alot back in the old tabletop game.. even modded a Warhammer in the Tabletop Game to pack a pair of Gauss Rifles (Muahahaha!), Archer... not so much.. wasn't a big fan of missile boats. Would be nice to see 'em though.

put twin ppc on an archer and watch the look of supprise on the table:P

Archer may not make it either but there is a twin PPC Catapult that is being tested in beta.

The twin PPC version of the Catapult was a Kurita variant around the 3025 time frame, so it makes sense that it would be in the game.

As for the Marauder and Warhammer, I would love to see them just as much as anyone else, but highly doubt we'll see either.

Well I would certainly pay to use the Warhammer, hell I'll pay for the Archer and the Pheonix Hawrk and the Marauder if that's what it takes to make them available.

If the warhammer is "unseen" how was it in the old mechwarrior 5 trailer from a couple of years ago??

I have finally figured it out. Odds are no. My reasoning behind it is this....

If they produce the re-seen many old school players will cry out in fury and the forums will be flooded with but but its okay now they said so I heard it in a rumor at x place.

If they somehow managed to produce unseen by getting in graces with HG(bribery goes a long way). Then the newer generation will cry foul and be like ohh those are crap they look nothing like the ones I am used to. While the fallout from doing the unseen designs would be less no one wants to suck HGs money gobbler.

I don't think we'll see any of them, even if they can sneak some form of art in. Their roles are taken up by the Catapult and Cataphract.

I don't think you will seen any of them. There is too much legal back and forth on it. If PGI trys to us them, someone, somewhere is going to sue them for something.

Best just to let it go.

Their are complected legal issues which make it extremely unlikely we will ever see the unseen. That trailer was just a promo to drum up support for creating a new game, it wasn't really a trailer for a game (it was in a way just really fancy fan art). At the time PGI was also under the impression that the whole unseen thing essentially blew over. Unfortunately they were issued a cease and desist by Harmony Gold and had to pull the trailer, which shows that HG is still interested in keeping the 'unseen' unseen.

The Cataphract looks and functions like a reseen Maurader.

You will probably never see a Warhammer even if it's image was allowed. That thing is bristling with multi-function weapon hardponits, good speed, great torso articulation. This mech would single handedly replace half the mechs in this game.

Wow, OLD topic revived here...

As much as i loved the Marauder and especially the Warhammer back in the classic BT tabletop days, it's probably better to let them rest in peace. The reseen designs are awful, and even if they buy the legal rights to use the unseen, there will always be a stale aftertaste. Those nice designs were once stolen from another (otherwise awful) franchise.

This is just not necessary. Look at the beautiful redesigns PGI gave those mechs we have in the game. They are ready to start building their own legacy.

Gimme a Hammerhands with Laser hardpoints in the arms as well as the Ballistics and I will happily pilot me some Warhammer looking beasts!
