Target Info Gathering Module, is it worth the price of a Cataphract, or Catapult or most medium / light mechs?

I have it unlocked with a few of the other modules, but I have not bought it simply because of the cost. It would more than double the cost of a basic mech (well, most, not all of them).

Once you buy it, you can equip/unequip it on every 'mech you own. Since you already spent the GXP for the skill, you might as well spend the C-bills.

It's fairly handy. And you only ever need one of each module, so the price isn't a big thing. Treat it like you would an XL, swapping it around mechs as you use them.

I am aware that 1 is all you need and that you can install on any mech you own. I swap the sensor module to whatever I am piloting for the day / moment.

Still 6 mil is a lot.

With ECM everywhere, does it increase lock on time combining it with the sensor module if you use LRMs or does it allow me to 'spot' mechs I can see plainly but not lock any faster?

Simplify the question, What does it really do for you with ECM in use on nearly every map / battle?

As it say's on the target Info Gathering Module just speeds up how quickly you get the information on your current target.
Useful information to pass on to your team or use to find best place to hit him. For a scout yes maybe LRM support, but apart from that not worth it.
