MWs usually wore a coolant vest and shorts cause of the heat. Why the vest can't be made into a full body flight suit, nobody can say.

With the discovery of the Star League cache, it's very possible that you would start to see Mechwarriors wearing the standard Star League cooling suit. Which was a full body stocking that acted the same as the cooling vest, with a few extras (auto med-pack, etc) and looked similar to a flight suit.

Flight suits. Honestly the whole "shorts'' or less idea is silly to put it mildly. They'd be wearing cool suits. Which probably also have decent radiation shielding.

The lore short and vest dealy always seemed dumb. But we neglect to remember that in the future whilst they have figured out how to make a mech walk around they have forgotten everything we currently know about warfare.

PGI doesnt know **** about Battletech canon as is.

If they want to start making MW:O actually part of battletech instead of MechAssault version 2 then there are other important things to fix first.

Isnt this around the time when more advanced cooling suits were devloped/rediscovered that gave full body cooling?

Not until the clans are encountered, though Comstar pilots already have access to them.

the guy in back is Jeremiah Rose - he's wearing one of the advanced Star League cooling suits he got from ComGuard. The guy in front is wearing traditional Clan MechWarrior garb.

Er whats your point? I just said that Comstar has the stuff and that the Innersphere folk didnt start developing cooling suits until the clans were encountered, I never aid they GOT them from the clans, though the clans did make extensive use of them as well. Particularly their figher-phenotypes as they were standard issue for the SLDF

Edit: Particularly, if you want the game rules, they are in book 08630 Tactical Handbook on page 73, where Cooling suits are listed as Clan, Comguard, and Word of Blake avalability
