The point is to relax, have fun, and drive mechs.

Hopefully these game modes are placeholders that contain the code that will support CW.

Well, look at it this way.

Why not abuse the absolute **** of ECM?

It was put in to ruin peoples fun, so use it as such. Nothing more fun than rushing a speedy mech under the cover of ECM and all but invisible to the enemys point and ruining everyones fun.

Have fun brawling for 2-3 minutes before the match ends.

I have no clue what this is supposed to mean or what it has to do with the topic but I sense much anger in this one.

edit: Thanks Felix- sometimes at 2 am the connection from brain to typing fingers fails.

mean or be?

Either way it works I suppose :D

And just that it is a new way to playinstead of running around in a mech that uses support fire and cover to act as arty for the front line mechs, as that has been effectively removed (for PUGs atleast) you can just pick up a light ECM mech and ruin the fights by caping and reducing the fights to about 2-3 minutes

What they really need is some simple fix like only being able to start a cap after a certain time (3 minutes, 5 minutes, idk). Capping NEEDS to be in the game to serve as an alternate victory condition to complete destruction. Unless you want to wait 15 minutes every time the losing team has one light mech left alive who doesn't want to run out to his death.

Without RnR, any light mech who does this is only hurting themselves. You get C-Bills for damage done, you don't get squat for hiding. Victory is hollow without any substantial C-Bill bonus to go with it as well.

Cry me river some more. Maybe that will some time convince to say "Hey you know what: **** that I don't want a 2 minute fast win that gives 25k and rather get into the brawl with the others at the risk of fighting for 8+ minutes and get out with a loss and only 50k in reward.

Do the math's yourself, but at least for pure PUG matches the earnings over time should be a lot higher when you do fast cap every match.

If you fight for 8+ minutes, win or lose, you're generally gonna make a lot more than 50,000, and very, very rarely any less than that. Often, you'll make more than 100,000. Assuming an average match of that length still only averaged at 75,000 C-bills, counting the downtime, you'd only have time for three rush caps, so you'd break even.

Even if you made a little bit more cash by cap rushing... this is a video game, the fun factor is the #1 priority. Would you really rush cap three times (suffering through multiple wait screens) rather than fight one standard 8-minute match, all for 10,000 or 20,000 more C-bills?

I sure as hell wouldn't...
