if i buy some MC and than buy a mech with it, does the mech carry over from the beta ?

or did i get waste my money?

I dont know if you will keep you mech when the game launches. But for sure, you will get your MC back, so you can rebuy your mech.

The last wipe was from closed beta going into open beta.

Anything you get now stays with you.

^^ That exactly... any MC purchased and then spent now is permanent.

I'd recommend to not spend mc on mechs, spend it on mech bays and just buy the mechs with cbills.

As previously stated the last complete "wipe" was when open beta started.

Starting off you may make a bad decision with your MC and then be kicking yourself later. Maybe buy your first one with MC then hold off. Take some time to play different types of mechs, maybe even a couple trials. See what suits your playstyle so you can invest in somthing you actually really like. Instead of having a mechbay full of mechs you dont play/sell.

as for the mechs i want the madcat to be in the game. it was so cool.

The Timberwolf is a clan mech, and as this game takes placce in 3049 (soon to be 3050), you won't be seeing any clan tech for a while.

You can always buy a little MC for mech bays. Those never hurt.
