I am getting this for a result when using the System Profiler:

"Windows Experience Index Rating: WEI assessment xml not found"

And when I pasted the results into my Beta Profile, it assigned me a Windows Experience Index rating of 0.0 (zero.zero)

I then went to my computer's performance settings and ran the WEI rating tool, and it gave me an overall rating of 5.2. After that I ran the System Profiler again, and I got the same error.

I thought this should be mentioned, but I don't want my profile to look like it was manually altered, so I'm leaving it at 0.0 for now.

If the Windows Experience Index is not a big issue for Beta, then I guess this doesn't need to be addredssed.

However, if you're filtering Registered Users based on their system specs and you have an automatic filter that cuts off anyone who's Windows Experience Index falls outside of a certain window, then this should be addressed because I don't really want to lose my shot at being selected for Closed Beta because of a small System Profiler bug.

I can very easily just type my WEI rating into my beta profile if it's important.

just fix it in your beta profile before you save it, typing in the number you know it should be rather than 0.0

The developers have said that manually changing the values given by the System Profiler will get you booted from severly reduce your chances of getting into Closed Beta.

I tried rebooting, and ran the system profiler again. It provided the same error mesage about not finding the xml file. I already re-ran the Windows Experience Index rating utility again, and it either just won't put the right kind of xml file where the system profiler is looking, or there's some kind of permissions bug or something.

I think it's a bug with the system profiler. What OS do you have?

It's a bug in Vista. Vista x86 and x64 have different issues with WEI.

DO NOT MANUALLY CHANGE YOUR PROFILER INFORMATION. EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IS WHAT WE EXPECT.

We'll announce when a new version of the profiler is available.
