That would be Mr.DingDong, who is a player who likes to yell 'DingDong' every time he gets a kill. He used to pilot a Streakcat, he's now in a Chunker (SRMcat). And yes, he's just as annoying now, whether he's on your team or not.

I've played with that guy I'm sure.

But it was a reference to someone else actually who will just type DONGS into any chat box in any game when the match begins just because dongs.

I have not seen to much vulgarity or profanity unless you call out a team m8 for alpha shooting your core in spawn. Not sure if it is their recruiting technique or just poor manners but they need a bust in the chop.

Well I'm glad to infer from responses that this is a relatively rare occurrence!  I have had an overwhelmingly positive and trash-free experience in-game, that's why this surprised me.  It didn't really even bother me that much, since they weren't smart enough to combat our polite responses that turned their douchebaggery back on them, but it just made me wonder. Most of the time, even trashtalkers don't drop the N-word.
Aside from a period of extreme forum ickiness, this has been one of the most civil communities I've been able to participate in.  Glad to know I'm not the only one with that experience!

I know what you're talking about, I've seen people tell others to **** off and die simply for taking the commander's role and trying to organize our team. I'm hoping for one of two things to happen:

A: The asshats get sick of losing badly all the time, figure out that they need to work with their team mates, and the idiocy will end.

B: The asshats will continue to get stomped, get ******** because the devs won't cater to them, and ragequit like the entitled brats they have proven themselves to be at this point.

A. FYI, KOTOR SWTOR SUX BAD, so to compare might not be fair
B. Not player driven, so of course as you run around fighting really stupid AI in really stupid groups around the map, ARHG I can even go on, what the hell makes people like MMOs GHAAAD

Fixed it for you.

I wouldn't let It get to you. Some people are just douche bags and get off on ruining other gamer's experiences and think trolling everything Is the way to go. There Is nothing wrong with having a bit of fun, but most people will take advantage of other players as soon as they see an opening. There are still lots of other good people playing the game!

No worries!

Merry Xmas all!

This is, unfortunatly the worst population I've seen in a game. But only because there really isnt a game yet, if you look beyond the negativity and exploiters I think there is a community of really good people. Just wait the diamond will shine once we have a real war game driven fight for planets, manage resources type game

Oh please. Be less dramatic. This community can't hold a candle to the vitriolic LoL, HoN, and DoTA communities.

Quite honestly seeing these threads is far more discouraging than seeing people curse or ridicule.

edit: Oh and just to add, I am one of those guys that will trash talk to you, and call you bad, etc. Because you know what? I don't play the game so you can have fun. I play it so I can have fun.

I also think a lot of people are leaving... taking a break etc. You just have to look at the fewer number of people logged into the forums and how many new forum posts. A month ago there were 400 people online on the forums at most hours. Now barely 200. That suggests around a 40-50% drop in population.

Also it's December, loads of people have less free time due to getting ready for christmas, I bet it picks up again in January

I like the guys that type "Your lives...I claim them" and then don't get any kills.

Or the guys that say, "Power down and surrender." But are the first to drop.

I'm in the UK and i generally avoid playing late at night (1 AM+ GMT) because there seem to be players online at that time who talk crap, have the most stupid builds you can imagine, and are hopeless at the game.

Typically, I think it is pretty funny when people get upset when they rush into the enemy team and expect you to just go with them.

That being said, I like it when both teams have some "friendly smack talk". Like this one time I was the last one alive in conquest and two cicadas couldn't kill me as a cent, by the time we had 750 points I had some stripped armor and slightly damged internals and the last cicada ran away and was almost legged.

Fun Fight, GG, and some salty smack talk never hurt anybody.

All this makes me wonder how long the trashtalkers will take to realize they're a big part of the reason most women don't play real games online.

Wolf, it's sad when your enjoyment of the game revolves around ensuring others can't. That is usually a form of psychosis associated with those who torture small animals.

Anyway, it makes me glad I usually play during European Primetime... I never have to bother even ignoring that garbage, because it doesn't happen.

I don't know, I've seen way worse communities. Trash talk is minimal. You see a lot of exploit-ish builds and ********, but that's every game. men, its the internet, you're gonna run into jerks, just rise above it and be the kind of player you would want to play with-
