Im not complaining but...I thought some said there would not be any premium accounts for MWO?

What exactly will the Premium Accounts offer over F2P?

Premium accounts offer more experience points and c-bills, which do not have a direct impact on gameplay. (Yes, they do provide an indirect impact, but no worse then facing someone who has more hours to spend in game then you do.)

Yes, a premium account is an account you pay for in order to recieve the perks it offers. It will allow you to unlock abilities/purchase gear sooner and with less effort involved. Ultimately the difference between a premium account and free-to-play account is time required to reach the same point.

As an example...say you're saving up to 1,000,000 C-bills. The premium account earns more C-bills per match, so could do it in fewer matches then the free-to-play account. But the free-to-play account wouldn't be prevented from reaching 1,000,000 c-bills, if they were willing to put in the work to fight the extra matches.

So far, they haven't revealed a price point on them. I'm sure that will be information revealed in the days before the July release.

basically they said so far that premium gets a c-bill and xp boost. If other games are any indication premium will probably also provide some generic things like more mech bay slots wihout having to buy them from the store.

Also a lot of f2p games offer their premium service for the same cost as mmo monthly subscriptions (12-15 bucks a month in most cases). Some games give their premium service so many out of game currency a month so that they can buy a couple small things (maybe 1-2 xp boosts, or a small item..etc).

If you want to look at it technically, the only difference is the time. Both will be grinding, they'll just receive rewards at different rates. Until you have everything you can possibly want out of the game, you'll need to grind for it. (Unless you are stupidly overpaid, in which case you'll probably be able to just purchase all the C-bills you need...But really I'm okay with that, the amount of money a single player would have to throw into the company to do that would support it quite well.)

All that being said, I've got my $60 tucked aside already and will most likely get the premium account when my free time runs out. Like many on this board, I work for a living, I can't be spending 20 hours a day in game to get that chasis I MUST have!

it's an XP / C-bill boost. Nothing game-breaking, just allows you to focus more on enjoying your gaming rather than the grind.
I'll probably go for founder status, grab a Jenner with a PPC to start out with, and then later migrate to a Cicada probably using the paid-for-in-game-money, and due to college being there probably not touch the premium acc until my sophomore year when I get in-state tuition >.>

Sorry PGI I want to pay you but college comes first :/

Jenner with PPC? How do you know the Founders Jenner has a PPC? Or are you just talking about putting a PPC in yourself?
