I was wondering if a dev has responded on this and whether they plan to actually improve the vibrancy and colours of the game? because at this rate even Hawken has more colour, and despite the VASTLY different gameplay, I just can't play a game that looks like **** has been smeared across my screen in order to make it "gritty and realistic".

Give me some COLOUR like the images posted.

How about if it were based on the map. For instance the increased color on forest colony makes sense only if they introduce a non-cloudy/foggy, sunny version of the map. And for the River City map, perhaps they could make a variant in which the city is not yet blown to pieces, so its more colorful because layers of war dust haven't yet accumulated on the bright and sunny city!

Its simple, have a "noon" version of the maps with the colors on max.

Keep the current versions as "dusk" or "dawn" versions.

Which of these you drop on will be decided with random chance when you get the map with daylight setting.

Btw, you should start a thread about a JANGL map... it would be so cool.

It's not a problem of the "type" of map like dusk/dawn versions, it's the crappy filters that they stick over the screen to try and keep everything the same ugly brown colour. It needs to go. I really can't believe i'm the only one that is so bothered by this, when you look at the comparison screenshots and see how much better the game COULD look.. EASILY with this engine.. it just makes me weep.

I'd love the game to be a little more colourful...

I agree they need to increase the color range. Right now camo serves no purpose because everything looks the same color anyway. You can only see another mech's camo colors from 200m or less.

Signed. I really don't like how muddy and drab the game looks, it's really self-depreciating when the special effects and mech models are so well done.

It probably won't be too long before someone finds a config edit to make this work, or a secondary program that alters the color output of your video card. In fact, doesn't Nvidia allow you to use custom color profiles per game?

I'm undecided.

The two left ones both leave me with a more Battletech-like feel. I think things like devastation, loneliness, apocalypse.

I also really like the lower right one. Maybe a battle in the early morning of some remote ocean world!?

But the upper right one just looks a bit too flashy and happy for me, especially the grass. I do like the mountains in the back, maybe a little less green hue.

So I agree more colors would be nice, but don't overdo it.

Edit: also, I don't see any overwhelming brown on the frozen city map ;-p

I like colour.

I would definitely be happy to see a more colourful MWO, even if only on specific "noon" or "sunny" map variants.

I thought the same thing from the start and have discussed this in-game once in a while. I really like contrast and colour and hope they will bring em up in some future patch. Currently maps are indeed too monochromatic and dull (everything is the same color). Let's hope for the best..

Don't worry, you're not. I haven't played in weeks, because between this and the film grain, I just can't bear to play more that one-two rounds at a time, the game's just ugly.

I feel the same way, I mean I like the gameplay, but the style and graphics have to at least catch my interest or it just gets dull. Really disappointed that this wasn't touched upon at all in the recent "CREATIVE DIRECTOR UPDATE"

Do they not think it's a big deal at all or something?

Lol then you've never seen my Crimson Cicada sprinting your way. Brightest thing on the battlefield.

Or my white Stalker... stands out like a sore thumb on any non-snow map (and likes it that way!)

I think a hint of green, a lot more blue, and a little red would work well on most maps, like Forest Colony or River City. Am I the only one that's noticed all the buildings are grey, all the water is brown, and the sky is never blue? I want blue skies, by cracky!
