When chatting, please make ESC cancel chat instead of display menu.

I was going to suggest a key to cancel chat myself, but found this so I'll bump it instead. I was typing to warn my team of a Hunchback coming up from behind, and started taking fire. My first instinct was to try to move, so my chat became full of A's, D's, and W's. By the time I thought to just hit enter and spam my nonsense, I got killed. A quick way to cancel a chat would really be helpful.

ESC key is more intuitive for cancelling chat
