Just out of curiosity... how many of us are concerned that our piece of shi- computers aren't going to be able to play MWO but still intend to purchase a Founder's Package?

I plan on purchasing the elite package despite the fact that my computer is most likely far too crappy to play MWO. Hopefully I'll be able to upgrade but with the beta date so close I doubt I'll be able to get a new computer in time. Here's the system specs the beta profile program spat out for me:

Spoiler

So despite the fact that I'll technically be paying for early access I doubt I'll actually take advantage of it. Is this unusual or do others plan on doing the same thing?

But you're going to buy a new computer anyway and mail me your current one right? Because you're such a nice guy and everything... right?

i will pay for this no matter if my computer will run it or not. i like to support a god cause, you see. also i plan to get a new system at some point.

that aside, my main concern about the whole ordeal is that i only have a dual core cpu. this factor has had me run into some issues with cpu heavy games like GTA4, SR:3 and Crysis 2. i can run all of them but only on decreased settings, crysis 2 being an oddball of the lot since it used to work great on high settings, then started plummeting in performance, probably due to an update.

My computer is pretty crappy but it still runs Fallout 3 and stuff.

Being in Beta will help test MWOs performance on low end machines. And being available on lower end machines increases the potential player base. It is entirely reasonable that MWO should or will operate on junk computers.

I sincerely hope you're right. I've been saying for months that I wouldn't care if I have to run everything on the lowest graphical settings... I just want to be able to play without being hindered to the point of bringing my lance down because I can't perform my duties adequately. Although as a recon pilot I'll have to have my view distance set to the max so that might be a problem.

I doubt PGI will do it (if they were I'm sure it would have been announced by now) but I know EVE Online used to (still do?) offer two seperate downloads; one for high graphics and one for low graphics. An option like that would be nice for MWO.

For the record, I'm concerned about my computer's performance but I want to buy the Elite Founder's Package

I'm only concerned about the card though.

I am not concerned with my computers ability to handle MW:O and i am buying a elite founders package. But if my machine has problems with the game it will be used as information to the developers to make the best game possible for the consumers.

Hopefully they have system specs available before the Operation:Inception packs go on sale!

Crysis 2 probably sets a very similar bar to pass (same engine as MWO) so a trip to the system specs lab t compare your system with Crysis 2 might be a good place to start. http://www.systemreq...cyri/intro.aspx

Got a 'middle of the road' level compter, never been unable to play anything, but have dropped graphics settings to improve gameplay

so no, not worried, i'll play even if i have to min every setting there is!

I'm pretty sure you can still run it with your specs, so don't worry about it :D. My Laptop has a similar GPU (Geforce GT 335M) to yours and a dual core SU7300 1.3 GHZ processor with more cache memory (that's the only thing that might be a little better, but only just), and it still runs Crysis 2 (same engine as MWO) perfectly fine on Medium. It does have double the ram, but 2 GB is really plenty for most games.

I will probably upgrade my RAM, other than that I'm good to go. Once I've persuaded my wife she doesn't need yet another pair of shoes I will get the $60 Elite package (hopefully it will be EU available by then).

For me it isn't so much a question as to whether or not this computer will run MWO... its whether or not I should bother trying to upgrade it or just buy a completely new PC.

How many virgins did you have to sacrifice to the Digital God to make it work? Really though... I find your claim encouraging but I'll be very surprised if this PC can run MWO. But at this point all I can do is hope.

You would be supprised what old PCs can run nowadays (if you play with the options) . The age of constant upgrades was long ago.
Your GFX card supports the right Shader versions so before you spend lots of money on buying/building a new PC I would try running the game with the help of a programm like this http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html. It can help if you need just a little bit more speed.

And maybe update to 4GB of RAM if you have other programms running in the background. That should be pretty cheap anyway.

I am NOT concerned about my computer's ability to play MWO... because it runs the CryEngine SDK and does just fine!

What I'm more concerned about is that the Founders Packages will be for NA Servers only if I got that right. And Bryan said that there is No official word on account migration yet. That would mean us european players would maybe be bound to an NA account or loose all the goodies they offer.
If they decide to offer migrations once the Euro servers will be up I'd get me one no second thought. But at the current situation it's a bit sad.

My current machine was great in 2009 (when i built it) and still solid now (though I generally have to play on medium settings).
