On the cockpit HUD armor status display in all mechs, in the lower left of the display are two representations of the armor status of the mech, front and back.
The front view is labelled L and R (for Left and Right) with the L on the left and the R on the right.
The rear view is also labelled L and R (for Left and Right) with the L on the left and the R on the right.
This is incorrect, and is confusing, especially for the pilot whose right arm carries a critical weapon to his loadout. When the mech is facing you its right arm should appear to the Left.
The front view should show L to the right of the armor status display and the R should be to the left, looking at it.

But it's not "facing you" it's facing forwards, as if you were sitting in the middle of the mech. At a glance it orients with our personal left/right relation and allows you to quickly tell what is damaged. Meanwhile the enemy IS facing you, so they are reversed.
