A friend of mine and I have been playing MWO since it went open beta and yes there have been a few issues now and then with some bugs or what have you. However, that isn't really my point of this thread...

My point of this thread is to ask how old some of you people really are? I ask because my 10 year old nephew acts older than most of you do on here. I'm 34 and when I started playing games online the internet was still pretty new and was in the era of games like Janes ATF or the Falcon series... Back in those days games were bloody hard to master, there was none of this crying on the forums because I got my tail feathers burned and I was gonna quit unless Janes nerfed the sidewinder missles... lmao... No, what we did when we got our butts handed to us was figure out what the issue was and learn to do things different. If our issue was we didn't know how to use the radar or weapon system correctly guess what, we certainly did the next week...

LRMs are not too strong, I run LRM boats and sometimes I do very well with them and others I'm on the bottom of the damage list. People, stop crying about them and try to find the weakness. Believe me they have them! When I take my LRM boat out I take a chance in doing so because if someone gets within that 180m range unless I have back up I'm toast. I know this and I'm totally ok with that. However if you get out of that range I will melt you... If it were up to me LRMs would be the most powerful weapon system in the game. I say that for a couple of reasons. 1. in real life a single missle will leave a tank scattered on a battle field in the year 3050 do you really think they would not have the tech to do the same? 2. They are very easy to counter unless you are a complete *******. 3. They are usually easy to sneak up on and kill as I do it all the time.

ECM is not a game killer, changer maybe but not anything horrible as these forums suggest. I run a pure LRM boat with 2 ml for backup. Yes the 2 ml are more for show than anything really but I have NO issues with ECM. If I have a ECM mech I can and do TAG them and let them have it. Its not that hard to do!!! I also have an ECM Raven which I bought a couple days ago (first light mech) and sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't.

Now, with those things said we all including PGI know there are bugs in the game. They have said it and people on the forums have said it at least a thousand times a day. All of this crap about OOoooo get rid of LRMs are coming from people who I would guess simply want to go brawl and not have to worry about anything except the guy in front of him. Comeon now be honest here... lol... Probably the same with the ECM but for the missile guys... There are always going to be people who dont want to have to learn anything no matter which system it is...

As far as my title here goes, I mean it... I really do wish PGI would stop reading this forum and changing the game for all these squeaky wheels around here. From what I have seen most on the forums want easy mode and lets be honest the rest of us are playing. In six months when the next hot title hits the market those people will be gone anyway... Make the game exactly the way you wanted to and stick to that plan!!! If its hard people will learn how to play I assure you. If it takes time people will continue to play to get to where they want to be. I understand there needs to be somewhat of a balance, however remember that sometimes the "fix" is worse than the problem...

To a few of you on here, yes you know who you are... You can take this as my personal invite to go back to your CoD blackops, Metal Gear, or any that choose. I'll let my nephews know that you are coming. I see you on here all the time crying and complaining more than my 4 year old little girl. I have yet to once see your name in game but you are in just about every thread on here. Stop thinking you are entitled to something and crying louder will get what you want. Stop being a spoiled candy *** little girl and get over it as I'm tired of coming to the forums to see what might be new and having you in every thread complaining about something... I for one expect a "simulator" to be difficult to master and hard to get to the top of the food chain... Heaven forbid that you ever play a game like Falon 4 that actually had a manual larger than a highschool text book. The world as we know it might stop spinning and float off into the black void of nothing... You want everything now and do not want to have to put any effort into getting your way... Pucker up butter cup as life is going to be extemely difficult for you once you get into the real world... lol...

The bad thing is, OP.. this was just as bad when the NDA was still in effect and you had to be 18 to play.. I don't think physical age plays a part.

Does that mean this thread should be moved to the Suggestions forum? It's seem like a bad idea to have the Developers avoid reading the forums because they'd lose out on myriad bug-reports and other valuable user feedback.

Or, maybe the title is facetious and this a thinly-veiled thread about how you're frustrated with the forum userbase. That'd be more of an Off-Topic discussion. The General Discussion is supposed to be about the Game, and talking about users, especially specific users who "know who they are," doesn't fit the proper criteria for MW:O General Discussion.

Please don't turn this thread into a discussion filled with back-and-forth argumentative banter. Let's see where it goes.

Real age means nothing. A 14 years old can act much more mature than a 40. By the way, from what we can tell, most people here are adults, many over 30... so, yeah. And for a gaming forum, this one is actually quite decent.

People have the right to complain. Sure plenty of topics are simple whining and crying and demanding, but telling PGI to disregard whatever feedback, just because some of the players aren't mature enough for you? Nah! Am sure the devs know what to take into consideration and what to filter out.

To be fair banter has it's place but being argumentative for argumentatives sake is kinda what leads to this sort of thread.

I agree with the OP point/frustration if not his whole tone and wording. Functionally i think that the large issue is that we all have a vision of what "we want mwo to be" and it has become factionalized. Now some of us believe our "what mwo should be" is in sync with what MWO was originally billed as but there is frustration as it seems (subjectively) to be moving away from that. And then you have the conflicting "what mwo should be" opinions clashing here, often times loudly and obnoxiously.

Problem is the rule of thumb is that if you are loud enough you will be heard, the squeaky wheel will get the grease and the quietly suffering wheel will get nothing. We also have the quietly happy group feeling ignored because things they were happy with are changing. It is easier to be against something than for it, sadly, but being loud in favor can make a difference.

Agreed.
Biggest surprise for me with MWO is all the whining in this forum.

This game is great, and I feel privileged to participate in the shaping of it.

The forums were actually pretty decent in closed beta. Then it opened up and the place went full tard. You never go full tard, once you do theres just no coming back from it.

What if PGI implemented some sort of cost to post on the forums..... Lets say a few thousand C-Bills or something?

Do they not have a "bug reporting" thread in this forums??? Seems to me that 90% of this "general disscussion" is nothing more than people flaming others, or their posts or simply complaining that something isn't fair or something else is way OP as they call it... Also I can account for a few things that people here cried their little eyes out over and what happened they changed the game for them...

Well I thought I would be the bigger person here and not name names... One thing for certain that iRacing did right was you use your real name and where you are from that is attached to your payment method... There are still some trolls but only about 2% of the total threads... All of these one liners who think they are funny or clever are only fooling themselves or others just like them.

Also I never once said everyone here is young, I simply asked how old you are because you are acting like a bunch of children. The only person I said what their age was my youngest newphew and my daughter... And what do you know, there are already a few of them showing up in this thread... What a HUGE suprise...
