Request For Statistics On 8-Man Drops

PGI, we're starting to see forum complaints of people unable to get into 8-man drops. Or when they do, they face the same team or two teams over and over again. Can we have some statistics on this so it can be taken apart?

A few of the common trends I'm seeing in complaints (I don't play 8 mans or groups of any kind so this is just what I see);

1. ECM Raven/Atlas dominance and other balance issues (possible evaluation needed?)
2. Difficult to get full 8-man team for any duration of time (real life issues coming up for individuals)
3. large skill divide between teams (something that will likely have to wait for ELO, but even with that if more people aren't dropping... ELO won't be much use).

So what would be helpful is (specifically regarding 8-man matches);

A; 24 hour average breakdown of when teams are running and how many
B; How many of those are one-sided/shutouts (ie no more than 2 kills scored for the losing team)
C; How many of each variant are on winning teams and losing teams, and the prevalence of ECM
D; What kind of damage (LRM laser, SRM, SSRM, AC etc) seems to be getting the most kills/damage and ranked so we can see if anything obvious sticks out.

The reason I am asking for all this info is this; group drops and competetive play are going to be a major plus to this game if done right, and a major hitch of done wrong. I understand matchmaking is not yet complete, however with a lot of these problems ELO won't matter as there are other factors driving the effective number of teams ELO can work with down to nearly non existent, basically removing it as a balancing factor in 8-mans.

If they won't show us how many players are online, and won't come forward with a definitive answer to the Lone Wolf vs. Premade argument...

We showed interest for months in the number of Premades vs. Lone Wolves to settle that debate.

Never happened.

We had petitions and everything. I think some people even threatened to quit. We asked nicely, we sent PM's and feedback, we offered bribes of money, booze, women... they are incorruptible! :D

Just thinking out of the box here, but if anyone wants to form an 8 man PUG, friend me in the game and let's get started improving things. I'll set up a group of pick-ups and wade in.

The only stats that matter are kept by PGI and any attempt to do this without their data is worth as much as an uneducated guess.

The good luck with that was aimed at getting pgi to release the needed data.

I think it's safe to say that the present implementation of 8-man drops is very unpopular. When we do it (which isn't terribly often) we usually face the same few groups, even during peak hours. This seems to indicate that at best there are less than 100 people playing that mode during peak times lately, compared to the thousands playing in the general games.

8 mans the wild frontier It's the holidays and when phase three comes in 8 man will probably be removed anyway. So why should PGI have a staff member go through the trouble of posting 8 man stats. If it's hard to find a group in 8 man but launching in standard is easy it's easy to speculate that 8 mans are the minority. The other 8 man post I think anyone who is going to post anything has stated that.
A) they play 8 man,
:D 8 mans crap or boring because of the ECM deal
C) Getting a team together is a pain in the butt
D) They are waiting for phase 3
E) 4 mans are going against other 4 mans and are fine with it.

Why not bring back the old (up to) 8 mans and have a toggle to play against only 8man teams. The current implementation has pretty much crippled me and my 5 other friends. We now have to make 3 man groups and try to launch at the same time.

Maybe the rewards for using the toggle for 8 man could be increased to makeup for the greater difficulty.

Pugs whined and cried. But now they blame there losses on 4 man. So PGI is working on Phase 3 and we'll get 1-8 mans back.

At the very least, we can point out clearly, concisely, and politely what is and isn't working, and show where the stats we feel need to be looked at are. PGI may or may not release the info, but we can help figure what needs to be evaluated and how to do it so we get the best benefit.

This bring whatever you want ecm online ridiculousness is not fun. They need to fix it. It's taking longer and longer to find matches for 8 mans because it's not fun and people aren't playing. Maybe set it to 8 mans having to consist of 2 of every class and a limit of 2 ecms.

What will be the sticking point if they were to alter ECM?

I am a lone wolf player. No ts, and just in game avail comms.

If I wanted to play this competitively I would play 8 man, not farm public games.

Don't see how that is flip-flopping.
