Don't know if the Devs have already found a solution for this, but with disconnects being so incredibly common (I'd say 70% of all games have at least 1 disconnect. My last game had 3 disconnects on the other team within the first minute, so it was 8 vs 5 mechs) I assume they agree that something needs to be done.

The obvious solution is to handle it like the Mass Effect multiplayer, where new players can spawn whenever someone disconnects up to a certain point in the game. In MW:O, I think it would be acceptable if new players joined the game up to 1 minute after the game has started. Few people disconnect afteer 1 minute, and it's rare for anything to happen within the first minute, so it makes little difference in terms of the end result.

(It would be worse if both teams had a single mech left, and then suddenly 2 new mechs spawned in one team's base)

I would agree with you Alistair. The disconnects are disheartning and as some keep preaching that this is "BETA" still. If so then they need to make accomdations for those that buy mechs and other merchandise to balance the frustration of not being able to play. Not to mention the constant Yellow Screen bug along with the disconnects. Most of all the new players don't realize that when someone disconnect's its not that they are doing it on purpose, it's the game that is kicking them. Almost reminds me of the old AOL days. Good Post.

I personally think theres an element of people that are doing this on purpose at the beginning of matches. They need to make it where if you disconnect during a match, you get NOTHING for that match....not even your premium mech bonus (if you have one). For those FEW honest disconnects, well that's a small price to pay for for the multitude of people exploiting some c-bills.

I like the idea of allowing disconnects within the first 15-20 seconds (including countdown) to be immediately replaced. i wouldnt want to carry it on more than that cause if someone gets damaged they could disconnect and a fresh mech replaces them and that would be bad.

To help stop disconnects at the beginning of matches (before it ever really gets started) they could also make it where unless you engage an enemy mech (via targeting for scouts) and/or dealing damage to them, you get nothing for the match.

I really dont think the devs understand how upset the player base is regarding all the disconnects and people exploiting it.

I'm certain that some people have to disconnect 'cause of real life or computer issues.
I'm also certain that most people disconnect because they dislike the map. I experience much more disconnects on caustic then on any other map for example.

Seems these "warriors" are ready for anything... as long as it happens on a planet with low temperatures and clear weather. Otherwise they just desert their comrades. I definitely agree that disconnecting should be punished severely (as long as your not blown up that is). Actually it IS a breach of the current game rules and can be reported ! But since you can't really report people from out of the game it's probably not done to often.

Why don't we (users) just make an agreement ? The next time someone (or several players) disconnects we note down their name and DO report them. Getting BANNED will likely have a much more lasting effect then getting no cash/XP for a match ;)

See also this thread for what can be reported (so we can actually even report AFK).
