so we can report them.

This is getting out of hand guys...fourth time today some chickensh** disconnects to deny me a kill. I know "idiots will be idiots" but I can't even report them because I'm always paying attention to everything but their nick. Worst of all, this last one was the last enemy standing and when he "Alt+f4'ed" the match didn't end, so we were forced to go aaaaaalllllll the waaaaay to the other side of the map and cap their base..

Seriously, something needs to be done.

And before people start with the excuses I saw in the locked thread, I solo pug exclusively (deal with it), run no mechs with ecm whatsoever (I was on a stalker) but both teams had one. Funnily enough it was theirs, a D-DC that bailed.

this became rampant as soon as they got rid of repair and reload. all while they had RR this was rarely an issue because you still had to pay repair costs if you left the game.

my response to this is fix the economy vv

Actually, there is a better way to fix this. When you Alt-F4, you might disconnect, but your mech remains. It just stops moving all together and stands there for a a bit (say 25 seconds), at which point the mech "ejects". Done.

as long as the players still take a hit to their KD. i think this would help, but i strongly believe a much more harsh punishment like RR is required.

I already posted my thoughts on RR in the thread you linked to, so I won't go into that. But yes, it would damage their KD ratio. I don't know why this doesn't happen currently, to be honest. Considering I have had numerous disconnects in games and have found the players mech standing around when we marched on the enemy base. I would have thought the mech would remain even after the Alt-F4 already.

the mechs do remain but the players escape any score penalty and killing an empty mech doesn't seem to count. at the very least it does not get displayed in the in round score board. i know i have been robbed of several kills since last patch.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that. I bet that has something to do with the fact that the servers have been pretty unstable, and a lot of people crash out or black-screen (this has happened to me a few times). However, now that RnR is gone, it should be a pretty easy fix. Before, I could understand not having it affect the player because they would have to repair a mech that they may not have even played due to a crash. That would be bad, and would make a lot of people upset. However, if it only affects your KD ratio, then they should just make it so you get dinged. This stops a lot of KD ratio whores from abusing the system. It may be a pest for people who frequently crash, but I haven't seen too much of that lately personally. If others are experiencing it still, it may be a personal hardware issue, rather than a server issue. And to be honest, KD ratio jockeys probably aren't running systems or connections that frequently crash, so it wouldn't really be a problem.

Yeah, I'd be fine with this. I know that I've dropped out a few times, but I never do it intentionally. On top of that, I don't give a flying f*** about my KD. It's an artificial statistic anyways. What am I gonna do, brag about how much time I had to spend to get it? There's no point, but some people still do it anyways, because they need to feel that they've accomplished something semi-worthwhile. (It really isn't, but we let them delude themselves.) Now, for those who just enjoy the game itself, KD is only a measure of how much you have improved, but not of how good you actually are. (Weird, isn't it? Took me a while to come to that conclusion, but in some way it makes sense for me. I know I'm doing well when it goes up, and I know I need to try harder when it goes down. I don't think the stat has any real bearing on anything other than the game though.)
