Industrial Mechs now double-confirmed

Eventually, I really really really want to see stadium fighting tournaments with customized Industrial and Agricultrial Mechs.

Let me try this for once:

Introduced in 3042 by Outworld Alliance-based Alliance Motors, Ltd, the Rock Hound is an IndustrialMech designed specifically to aid in finding and salvaging remains of technology and equipment from the wreckage created by the brutal fighting of the Periphery Uprising in the last days of the Star League. It is wildly employed by various Periphery governments such as the Magistracy of Canopus and Taurian Concordat, as well as private groups such as Interstellar Expeditions, which is rumoured to have funded the development of the design.

Interstellar Expeditions (which Sarna, suspiciously enough, has no article on), formed near the end of the Third Succession War, is a large organization whose nominal goal is interstellar archeology, including the discovery of abandoned settlements and lost technology, and historical research into various occurances such as the appearance of the Minnesota Tribe. They often hire merecenary companies such as the Periphery Star Guard to protect their activities in the Periphery and elsewhere.

Advanced firecon & an ejection seat? That's pretty high-tech for an Industrialmech (pre-Jihad). I wonder what kind of hardpoints drills & rock-cutters use? ;)

That drill would make one heck of a mess of someones cockpit wouldn't it... better not overheat and shutdown with that thing bearing down on you. Also twin SRM4's, could take out 20-25t scouts without much difficulty.

The Mining Drill is a piece of mining equipment, like the Rock Cutter, which only gets pressed into military service as a last resort, and is usually found on IndustrialMechs or Support Vehicles.
The Mining Drill is simply a large, fast-moving drill head on an armature with a diamond tip. It is capable of much finer control than the Rock Cutter, but lacks the general effectiveness of its companion at brute tasks; most major mining vehicles carry one of each.

Game Rules

In game play the Mining drill inflicts 4 points of damage to combat units] and 4+1D6 damage to buildings. It has a refined, accurate cutting tip, and so receives a -1 to-hit bonus on attacks.
Bipedal 'Mechs can carry a single Mining Drill in each arm, but must remove the hand actuator to do so. Quad 'Mechs and IndustrialMechs must mount the Mining Drill in the side torsos, but can only mount one in each location. Combat and Support Vehicles may mount a Mining Drill in the Front, Back, or Turret locations. A Mining Drill may not be mounted in any area that mounts a Chainsaw, Dual Saw, Pile Driver, Wrecking Ball, Combine, Rock Cutter, or Backhoe
