The CN9-D Centurion has 23.5 tons for weapons, with 8.5 tons of armor.
Weapons :

RA : 1 x AC/20 @ 14tons & 10 CS
LT : 2 x LRM 5 @ 2 x 2 tons & 2 CS
CT : 2 x Medium Lasers @ 2 x 2 tons & 2 CS
RT : 2 tons AC-ammo & case @ 2.5 tons 3 CS
RT ; 1 anti-missile system @ 0.5 tons & 1 CS
RT : 1 ton AM-ammo & case @ 1.5 x ton & 2 CS
LT : 1 ton LRM-ammo & case @ 1.5 tons & 2CS
Total : 24 tons.

Armor : is now reduced to 8 tons even ( losing 8 points of protection )
Heat sinks 10 DBL ( 300 XL divided by 25 = 12 so all all of them are integral )

I may drop the Anti-missile and go with ECM, &/or drop the AC/20 and go with a Gauss Rifle

Ryoken when the Clans hit, till then Centurion with Gauss replacing the AC and (hopefully available) ER medium lasers. Trade the freezers for double strength and I'm good to hook.

As much speed as i can push.. then firepower. As a rule i prefer to avoid ammo dependancy as much as possible on anything smaller then a Heavy. Heat must also be tackled. Best to be able to burn to where you need to be.. and when engaging... just keep shooting, old MW games i usually used cycle fire over alpha strikes when piloting mediums. If your needed somewhere else.. the speed allows you to break off and get there.

(yeah.. was a fan of the Stormcrow(Ryoken) when i was using clan)

I tend to specialize my mediums.

I build them around one heavier "main weapon". PPC, Gauss, AC20, MRM, depending on range desired.

I think in Mech4 I ran around with a Chimera with a Streak MRM 40 in the missile rack. Toss in a medium laser or two as a backup.

Totally dominated.

I'd like to see an oversized Hollander with an over-under twin PPC design in the shoulder. Hell, maybe try to cram 3 PPC into a medium chassis somehow.

Actually I think with some models I could get 4 PPC into a 50 tonner. The only problem is the heatsinks. So practically 3 PPC and then the heatsinks to make use of them is the soft limit.

The Mech 4 vets in here gotta remember
Two choices in armor: standard and ferro fibrous.
Weapon loads are much more limited, both because of weight/space, and the newest development in this period is an Ultra ACs and pulse lasers in limited numbers.

Phoenix Hawke
Max armor
6/9/6 move
ppc, 2 med lasers
Double heat sinks

This was an awsone scout mech with decent firepower and survivability. Used it in the table-top game to great effect.

my favorite mech is the Wolfhound, like a pure laser mix. I also like the Commando and Centurion. My main will most likely be the Centurion which is a good alround mech, working towards the CN9-AL. This will give me a long range punch with the LRM10 and a solid medium to short range with the lasers.

I always liked the Crab back in MW2/Mercs... kinda a sniper type without ammo dependence....
That being said i tend to build my mediums with enough speed to get away, focus on long range munitions direct(ppc or large laser) and try to get some LRMS on board too. Jump jets if possible

Basically in a medium I don't wanna be anywhere near a heavy or assault and play more of a light fire support type role. Don't have to be horribly heat efficient, can run away and find a new vantage point while it cools down. Will prolly buy a shadowcat when they finally get around to clan mechs

I really like a good mix on my mediums, reasonable speed (Never below 86 kph, unless it mounts Jets. 64kph with jets is fine. 64 without jets is begging to be hurt), decent armor, and weapons that can engage at multiple ranges effectively, usually favoring long and medium range, close-in weapons (Medium lasers or SRMs) are for mopping up.

Balanced, but probably something akin to a upgraded centurion, say 86kph near full armor and armed with a LBX-10 AC along with some lasers and srms for up close and personal action. Heavy and Assault mechs tend to be much better suited to long range sniping and fire support. Personal taste tho, I don't consider 2 LRM-10 launchers or a single PPC and LRM launcher sufficent long range firesupport, and mediums walking around with a single ac5 or ac2 make me sad.

I'd want to have a balanced build of energy, slugs and missiles. However if I can only have two, Energy Weapons and Slugs is where it's at for me.

Can't decide on loadout yet.
Will have to wait for the game to select a versatile set.

I'm a Shadowhawk pilot, which means "Multi-purpose" IS my purpose.

Until then anything that lets me hit guys with SOMETHING at any range is pretty much my set-up. AC/5, medium lasers, and the like. Hell I might even roll the classic AC/5, LRM-5, SRM-2 and Medium laser-setup. Though my Kurita Shadowhawk-2K variant is fun as it's just an LRM-5 and a PPC with lots of heatsinks. ;)

not sure how things will go with the change in play style but back in MW4 my favorite was a shadowcat, decked out with an LBX AC, clan heavy pulse laser and some SRM's, not the best long term fighting loadout but fast, get up close with any other mech and they're in trouble, a good shot from the LBX to cockpit or rear armor and they're toast, though close up hitting them just about anywhere was crippling. We'll have to see how things work out in this version but I do really like the hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast and get the hell out of there style XD

I dont usually like 'specialist' medium mech builds. Mediums need a more flexible build, a generalist loadout. Build it around one 'main' weapon, an autocannon or large laser or LRM launcher. Sprinkle in a couple of medium lasers and an SRM pack if you can swing it. Ideally you want a nice range overlap of your weapons so you can fire most of them all the time. You dont need lightning speed, but you need to keep up with the scouts and not outpace the big boys too much.

Give me a medium with at least 5mp of JJ movement, and I'll make it work.

I tend to go for a balanced config but will usually sacrifice a little speed to get some extra heatsinks to keep up my fire. In TT for the 3025 era I like running a 55 tonner with 4/6 speed, 21 heat sinks, 11.5 tons of armor, 5 medium lasers and 2 LRM 5's.

The reason I like medium mechs is that they are more versatile than a heavy or a light so I tend to build mine to reflect that
