Except the Cataphract that we're seeing originated as Capellan, but is actually made by FedCom. So odds are they'll be the ones to get the discount on it, in particular since it's using two FedCom based weapon systems.
The Ceaser, closer to the original, is actually a far, far better 'mech on the table top; but you could make both about equal here in MWO given what we know about Mechlab.

I think I've just got the Mech I'd like to use with no objections!

gotta say i prefer the new design. although i think ild drop the uac 5, upgrade the lbx 10 to a 20 if theres space, and replace the missing uac 5 with a pair of med lasers and a couple more heat sinks (bringing the firepower loadout to a lbx 20 ac, 6 med lasers, and good heat curve)

That would be quite beastly but unfortunatly there won't be LBX 20's at launch, only 10's

If it is the one from the write up. No. It is the junker that the Davions made... IS Ultra 5... really? STUPID!!!! Any Ultra 5 belogs in the scrap heap.
The proper variant, the Liao one, with the ER PPC, LB-10x, and quad of MPLs..... love that mech. I'm bettign that all the MPLs will be forward firing. I would probably drop pair of MPLs to get the Jets of the FS variant and drop the MASC for more armor. For a Hv mech it didn't have that great of armor.

Wrong. The CC was still producing them. There is a cannon 3050 variant for the CC. Much better in my opinion.
As a side note the LB-10x is not a faction weapon like the Ultra 5 is for FS. With the FS obsession with AC/5s I wonder how they actually did well until the special AC ammo came out.
CTF-3L - An upgraded version of the Cataphract that follows more in line with the prototype 1X model, the 3L variant is propelled by an XL Engine with MASC which allows it to move at speeds up to 86.4 km/h in short bursts. The 'Mech is armed with an LB-X Autocannon/10 as its primary weapon which is matched with an ER PPC for powerful striking capabilities at long range. The 'Mech is also armed with four Medium Pulse Lasers for close combat. This design was produced by the Confederation at Grand Base following the ascension of Chancellor Romano Liao.

I think it is the CTF-3L. ER PPC, LB-10x, quad MPLs. I don't think that looks like an AC in the RA either.

Actually, that would be the badge for the Waco Rangers this Cataphract is sporting.
The crossed-out WD badge on the arm is cute, too. "No wolves, no problem" indeed.
Can anybody read what it say on the AC barrel? I can't quite make it out. Taste the rain?

Hayden and all any chance of a template for this coming out in the near future? I could muddle through but you guys do the nicest job with those!
Oh man am I excited!
Mine is in the works, but won't be ready for a day or two. In the mean time, I think one or two people have posted theirs.

Been waiting for a chicken-leg frontliner for a while now... (and nobody mention the Catapult K-Anything, it's still a catapult.)
Although I too am having a bit of an issue finding the UAC 5, the arm looks a little too energy to me for that...
