Whatever you think of him, I give Vlad a lot of respect. He revived the Wolves after they got absorbed.

No. The Smoke Jaguars did an Orbital Bombarded on the planet Turtle Bay during the 2nd wave of the Clan Invasion

The elite Jaguar Clusters cut through the opposing DCMS troops like a hot knife, but were stung by their inability to deal with Kurita partisans. This flaw was no more apparent than on the planet Turtle Bay. The Jaguars had unknowingly captured Hohiro Kurita, son of Theodore Kurita, but lost him during a jail break. Later, after several weeks of non-stop rioting, the local Jaguar commander unleashed the full power of his WarShip on the city of Edo Bay, bombarding it from orbit and completely destroying the city and killing nearly a million civilians.

they were picked because they were the most hated Clan because of how they treated the captures enemy and civilian. AN because they were the weakest of the 4 major Clans.

Actually they were chosen because they were the strongest of the invading Crusader Clans. There had been talk of hitting either jade falcon or Wolf at the Witting Conference that re-established the Star League but both those Clans were rebuilding after sustained operations and were deemed to be a weak target that would undermine the aims of the trial of Annihilation. This left Ghost bear, Smoke Jag or Nova Cat and the warden clans were already assimilating and not deemed a serious enough threat.

I was under the impression Smoke Jaguar was eliminated because they resorted to nuclear weaponry again, thus breaking sanctions.

That is Wolverine

The Grand Council disagrees with you so your view is incorrect. The only Wolves that are not legit are Phelan's as they were Abjured. Deal with it.

I think Khan Vlad Ward is a self-righteous *** who leads the empty shell of a once great Clan. But he does kill two Jade Falcon Khans, one of them in hand-to-hand combat. And for that, I thank him.

I think Vlad is very misunderstood. He hates the Warden view but was loyal to Ulric. After the Wolves were absorbed, Vlad said he would fight to avenge a man whose principles he found repugnant (paraphrasing cuz I am in work & cannot find the direct quote now). He not only avenged Ulric but freed the Wolves from the trickery of the Jade Falcons. Oh & for the record the one he killed in hand-to-hand combat had just become ilKhan. :(

the smoke jaguars were chosen because 1) they were the ilClan and taking them out would send a message to the other Clans, 2) they were among one of the most rabid of the Crusader faction. 3) the clan traitor Trent was from CSJ and he gave the IS/new Star League the info to make it back to Strana Mechty via CSJ space...

and on a side note, CSJ was weakend, but by no means was the weakest of the 4 major invading clans, Clan Jade Falcon was brutalized by the Battle on Tukkayid and the subsequent Refusal War with Clan Wolf, it could be argued they were the weakest. CSJ was chosen due to a confluence of factors involving tactical and political components.

Well thats not quite exactly true. Firstly it was discussed to invade the Clans through JFOA(Jadefalcon Occupation Area), which is/was the most broad one, and because the Falcons were heftily weakend by the War of refusal against the Crusader Faction of Clan Wolf, and because (of course) Katherine wanted to be looking good for having the counterattack to be started from Steiner Terretory. But they quikcly came to the conclusion that aattcking one of the weaker invasion clans would somehow lessen thier achievment, well because the enemy was weak, not looking good int he eyes of a warrior society they tried to impress with it. In such they turned thier attention to the other two. Since the Nova Cats had already expressed through secret channels, neutrality and even partial support for such a counterattack, it left only the Smoke Jaguars, who were actually the most powerful clan at the time. Trent only gave them the means (well wasn'T Trent alone, but also a female ComStar opperative whos name i've forgotten atm) to Invade the Clans Homewortld Diana directly with a secret strike force, but had absolute nothing to do with the decdision of attack through the SJ-Corridor.
