There should be no difference in basic vision and obscurables at any graphical level. Otherwise people will play with things turned off to gain an in-game advantage against people who don't.

PGI: Please ensure that no one can turn off anything which changes the basic abilities to see, spot, and shoot your enemies.

This is really quite important.

Easily doable. You can also change the colour scale for heat vision.

Seriously?

Can the same technique give me grayscale NV mode back?

Where do I subscribe to your newsletter?

Yes. If you get me someone from PGI to say it's ok to post such a mod I'll post it for you.

Radar, especially with sensor range module and/or Beagle Active Probe negates most problems. I run Kell Hounds Red/Black camo on my non-ECM mechs since others can catch me on radar anyways.

Fascinating.

Chances are I'd either be to lazy or too clueless to implement it anyway, though it would be very tempting!

;)

In principle I agree that we should all be seeing/not seeing the same things, regardless of gfx settings. But the NV mode change thing, now that's tempting indeed. :)

Would be trivial to implement (extract a .zip file basically). But my point was another.

Say my night vision looked like this:

or my thermal looked like that:

Would you say "oh, that's a nice recolor" or would you grab your pitchfork and cry cheat? It's certainly problematic, so I wouldn't want to post something like that without checking with PGI first.

Just wanted to say we agree, please feel free to PM me any inconsistencies between low - very high and I'll try to ensure they all get reviewed.

damn that cool.
I have had this happen at times, when all mechs turn grey. Each time it happens I get like 4 kills but is rare that it happens. like once out of 100 matches. Though I have heard some use the base cryengine something to turn all mechs silver.
