Hi!
Played Battletech in the early 90s with friends on the kitchentable,had much fun with the early Pc Games as well.Now my Question is:will there be in the future some of the old Mechs in the game like the Warhammer,Marauder,Madcat,Vulture etc?Even if they seem to be obsolete at the current state,it would be very nice to have em in the game.

Mad Cat and Vulture are clan mechs they will eventually arrive ingame. Its 3050 ingame now, the clans should "invade" in about 3-4 months from now.
Warhammer and Marauder are "unseen" and will probably never be seen ingame due to legal issues. Just google this or search the forum if you are interested. (Short version: The designs for these mechs were stolen.)

No they where not stolen. FASA got the rights to the artwork from the Japanese companies that owned them. Harmony Gold got the rights to distribute Robotech and other anime in the U.S. FASA's claim is valid and would have most likely won in court. They just did not have the mony because they were a small company.
FASA then made the decision to take out all 3rd party artwork and only use in house. Even the artwork that was made for them by a third party. Such as the original color artwork of the IIC unseen mechs. Even some of the artwork bought from Japan was still ok to use. FASA, understandably, had a very drastic reaction to the whole mess.
Sense FASA and later Fan Pro used in house artists for allot of their concept art mechs really started to look like ****. Thank fully Catalyst is has reached out to commission artists for work again. Shimmering Sword for example has done great work for them.
Here is the great thing about that. The new XTRO book has one of Shimmering Sword's Marauders on the cover. It's an E book but hay. Take what you can get.

Just browsed the guys gallery http://shimmering-sw...deviantart.com/ , some great stuff but i have to say i am much more fond of the art used for this game here.
