Do you think eventually when this game is out of Beta, maybe we might have mechlabs like the older games where you could use any mech and all equipment for free?

In other words, do you think this C Bill grind will be here to stay?

I would love to see a MW3/4 type mechlab. Or at least a unified lab experience that doesn't cost you millions of C-bills just to check a build out.

The C-Bill grind may be here to stay but there are some things that shouldn't cost any c-bills such as mech construction. That should be a one time fee at check-out.

I hope the c-bills are here to stay. I prefer the "grind" to not having one.

But I would love to see a "free form" mech lab that would let me play around with any chassis and any equipment just to experiment. I would not own the mech, nor could I pilot it without purchaseing it, but I would like the ability to fool around with loadouts prior to making a decision to buy a mech.

Eventually the Miranda and Bill Gates Foundation will sponsor MWO with 7.8 Billion $ and everything will be for free.
A team of 2500 map designers and programmers will start to constantly create new game modes, maps, and playable scenarios.
Instead of programming an AI all NPCs (aircraft, tanks, battalions of 100+ infantry units) will be controlled by employees of PGI (so you have to be online for the sinlge player campaign too)

But this wont be before 3050 (real time)

I'd like to see a freeform mechlab tied into a testing range.
Just a place to see how a potential build handles before you buy the chassis.

I don't see it happening in any forseeable future.

I want the mech warrior 4 lab, where the size of the original equipment controlled the number of hard points.

That's right kiddies, vermy wants a founder hunchback with TWELVE EFFING MACHINE GUNS.

MechWarrior 3 Shadowcats could hold 16 mguns. It was so loud.

and incredibly silly yes i'd like to see more of the mw4 hard point restrictions or we'll end up with more of these...

yeah i kinda don't like the gauss cats but mostly its because they weren't intended to be built like that and the graphic desginers made it that way. however the mech lab doesn't restrict it so that the largest ballists can fit into machine gun pods??? and now we're seeing people wanting to change the graphics to suit an mangled somewhat op build???

To be honest, while I'm not a big fan of the Gauss-apult, it reminds me of a later designed, around 20-25 years later, mech called the Fafnir that looked fairly close to that design of the Gauss-apult.
