I've been scouring the forums and have only found a scattering of posts on it with nothing final. There was something back in Sept. that said there was going to be some wiz-bang-cool thing called "C3 environment" or something, but I have not seen anything in-game pointing to PTT functions.

I think this is one of the bigger hurting points for us players who do not yet play in a team/lance/clan. People just getting into the game cannot communicate with there teammates removing a lot of the strategy and making matches one sided when fighting a pre-made team.

If this is posted somewhere, please point me to it. If not, please add it. TANKZ!

It sounds like you've found most of the extant information on C3 VoIP. Still nothing definite.

I categorize it as one of those "would be nice" things, but given the shaky state of the game's back-end I understand why they're prioritizing other things. It's not as critical right now without more MMOish functionality, Role Warfare, etc.

With that said, not everyone is going to have a microphone, or even necessarily audio (I frequently play without when I need to be listening to something else at the same time). Very good VoIP services exist for those who wish to use them already, and I don't see C3 improving on that situation much. What I'd rather see is a system like Tribes' VGS; a big list of quick, simple commands that display and speak automated phrases. It's a wonderfully useful tool once you get the hang of it, and it's time-efficient enough to still be useful in a game with human-sized targets, no hitscan weapons, and ground speeds exceeding 300 km/h.

The auto text type thing you explain could be done with a macro program, yes? Maybe assign the Function keys each saying so you have abo. 12 different presets.

That might work, especially with eight people playing, voice chatter can get overwhelming very fast.
