Please stop capping when there is 6 of your team and only 2 of the enemy left. Especially in a simple mode like Assault.

Kill/Assist = More C-Bills.

Will support Capping as long as it is listed as the primary objective for Assault. So keep on performing the primary mission until such a time as it is removed from the list.

We need capping back. It brings back more strategy in the game instead of mindless brawling.....

The point of the BETA game is to win while getting as much C-Bills as possible. Personally, I would rather lose with 150K C-Bills than win with 50K C-Bills, using caps.

A win is a win - but still .. I don't get the people who cap except if the enemy mech somehow has hidden and shutdown in a hard to find location. Most maps are small enough to do a quick sweep, get more c-bills and win anyway.

capping time in conquest is ok.
Assault capping time for just one or two mechs should be raised considerably. OR single mechs capping should be disabled. this would also aleviate the "last mech standing" cap victories. (caping with at least 2 mechs isn´t that bad of a idea, isn´t it?)

That is not a reason to not cap Taiz. There are times when capping is done just to annoy the enemy. But again the main objective is still listed as Capture the base. Even if it doesn't get any XP/Cash Love.

Assault is Capture the Flag. So don't complain when players actually capture the "flag" instead of playing the mode as a Team Deathmatch. However, complaints like this one shows why rewards for base captures need to be reinstated.

actually, capture the flag / memory core would be alot more interesting than what we have now
(going somewhere, collecting an item and taking it back to your base whilst also protecting your own base's item)

No sir that's the mission. Killing the enemy is just icing on the cake. I ain't doing it for the pay or the XP. I am doing my duty. And as such I am A)Capping B)Killing you if I must.

y'know it's funny.

4 of us were dropping together last night and we got capped in a couple of assault matches.

In one in particular on frozen city we were facing down a split team and we face rolled 2 heavies and 2 assaults ont eh ridge and our rear guard hollers the rest are near our base so we turn on heal and haul ***. Long story short they killed two of us all match (myself trying to delay the cap) had 3 mechs left and capped us with the majority our team not 100m out from our base. Our post game conversation

Teammate "Well that sucked"
Chorus of agreement "Yup"
Me "We woulda kicked their ***"
Chorus of agreement "Yup"
Teammate "Should fallen back sooner when we only saw 4"
Chorus of agreement "Yup"
Teammate "Gotta pay better attention to the cap"
Chorus of agreement "Yup"
Me "Yeah but we would kicked their ***, if we had"
Chorus of agreement "Yup"
Teammate "but we didn't and they won"
Chorus of agreement "Yup"

Moral of the story even if you woulda kicked their ***** if don't mean anything if you can't defend your base.

If there are 1-2 enemy squirrels left, I am going to cap.

Why? Because it is pointless to let them lead me all over the map when my mech has zero chance of catching them.

By going to the Cap, it accomplishes the objective, and forces the squirrel to either try to outcap me, or to try and stop me.

Since the outcome is already decided, if anything, I feel capping is the RIGHT thing to do, as it gets the bloody match over with, instead of playing "hunt the powered down and cowering OpFor".

If this is happening to you a lot, maybe you need to make a nice glorious final stand at your base?

A wins a win, to heck with the c-bills. So long as it's a viable path to a win, I will do it. And when I see in chat someone flaming because I'm capping, well, I just cap even more. I even bought the capture assist module to p*ss you off faster ;).

More power to you.

I would rather win, and if capping is what it takes, instead of spending 5 minutes chasing a much faster mech, I'll cap, because odds are I will complete a second drop, and hence, make more cbills ANYHOW, before you hunt down that squirrel.

Now If I still have some squirrels on my side, I always tell them, I'm gonna go to cap, but hey go kill the little b*stard... and then we see what happens first. Usually the little guys take it as a challenge working against the clock and kill the damn thing first.

*edit.... would also point out the the "point" of a Beta is to actually test ALL the game mechanics, win, lose or draw, and see what needs fixed or tweaked. Including if Capping is too easy/hard, etc.

Crying because you get caught with your pants down doesn't change the fact you just got outplayed.

No the point of your playing is makin money. My reason for playing is to perform the duties set to be by my Archon. Who wanted the base or she would have said Kill them then Capture the base.
