Just imagine it.... Free look always, combined with independent arms vs torso twist would make for amazing gameplay!

What brought this post up is that I heard The-Other-Mech-Game-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named (aka Hawken) will be including Occulus support

So who else thinks this would be amazing?

I would rather have devs working on new maps and mechs rather than Yacking off with a strap on TV.

Another one of these threads... I guess we need to meet the monthly quota for them.

Though I doubt the Occulus will become anything, VR goggles have been out for a long long time, and head tracking stuff much the same. They are just not that popular. Plus as a side note, Hawken took back their statement about supporting Occulus on release. they said they would get around to supporting should it ever come out, but its not something they are putting much resource in to.

Oh, I'm not saying resources should be diverted to oculus support, but rather that I see some potential for more immersion, an opportunity for better control, and easier interface.

Besides, who hasn't wanted their own neurohelmet?

Edit: and I've been around here for a bit, but I don't think I've really ever seen a thread on the topic. Are they really that common?

used to be spam all over the pcs and peripheral section, and to a lesser degree here, on GenDis. Most were from reps from the company trying to solicit support for their toy.

and wait.. you don't already HAVE a neurohelmet??????? Sad, guess you missed the Nvidia giveaway....

Little peripherals like this don't interest me. So no, I don't think it would be amazing.

Just what Hawken needs, a flashy peripheral to attract people to an otherwise weak game. I like Oculus, and they should keep developing it, but for now I hope PGI focuses on the core experience, because thats what will make MWO long-lasting.

Not having a keybound "Free look" would be incredibly helpful, that's for sure.

Common, no. But there is one that has been around since early in CB that gets necro'd at least once a month.

Im buying an occulus at some point. Support for this game would be amazing seeing as how the occulus is the first VR to supposedly get it right.

If it had gotten it right, it would be on the market. It's still a work in progress.

When the OR is finished, working correctly, is stable, and is affordable, then I would love to see MWO support it. But the OR is not there yet. Hopefully soon, but not yet.

It would be pure amazeballs to play MW:O with the Occulus. Seriously it would fullfill one of my dreams since I was a kid. I intend on getting the Occulus as soon as it arrives on the shelves and it would be perfect if MW:O would support it.

As Valve are currently developing their own VR headset to go with their 'mood sensing' gadgets etc for the Steam box I would hope there will be plenty of support out there for developers.
