Little Update:

The back:
Posted Image Posted Image

I could make it faster, but i hate to build things twice :P
Therefore i reinforce the big parts and color all the edges and this takes his time.

Here is a little example:

The glue on top of the torso weights around 500 gr.

Thank you so much for sharing this parman01! Finally I can build my own paper Atlas! It's all because of your hard work ^^

I noticed some sagging in the ones I had built, and have pondered reinforcing. What is the method you are using ? (I am not a very experienced builder) And I am impressed with that Atlas of yours, great work.

What I usually do is glue a piece of harder cardboard on the inside of the large faces before I start to build / close the "box".

The texture quality on your build looks awesome, am I missing something, when my prints look less neat or did you put a lot of manual effort into it?

@ Dirk Le Darling
I use cardboard for reinforcing. Here you can see on a other mech i build in the past. This beast would colapse without reinforcments :)

@Agent Cooper
The beginning of your Resin build is very good looking. I wish i could do this also (Or have one of those Resin Mechs) But since i can´t paint this things ...

@AndyHill
Thats because parman01 put .tga files in his zip. If i had printed it out of Pepakura it wouldn´t look such sharp.
The other thing is that i use glossy photo paper. I only made the texture of one mech manual sharper and that was a raven:
On the right is the original one and on the left the overworked version (The blue raven was the first papercraft mech i built and was made out of normal 80 gr paper)

Wow. Great work man.
When you finish this one maybe it's time for Catapult K2? :)

Small update:
One arm but i will mount it first if i have the legs ready. I actually not sure about which position i will chose at the end for the arms.

Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

I just recognized that this arm has 19! parts. The raven i posted above has 19 parts for the whole mech ;)

This is what happen if you work to fast (and too late in the evening with a beer  )

It took me two hours to make the two pods around the hip and then i glued them to wide up on the hip.
For luck i hade reinforced the hip with enough cardboard and i was able to cut the pods away.

After this it looks like this:
Posted Image Posted Image

I solved the problem by printing out the hip again and only overglued it with the new print out
Posted Image

And this is how it should look:
Posted Image

Now i´m happy :D ad can go on. Slowly i can see the light at the end of the tunnel

Made some more pices:
Posted Image Posted Image

And now to the feets:
I put weight in the feets of my mechs, then they stand very stable ^_^
Posted Image Posted Image

This mech is so "3D" as papercraft. I love it ;)

Wow..........you are going at it very nicely. Looking good and you managed to fixed that error pretty good too.

Just curious, I never looked the PDO over. Just how tall is this model ?

One leg almost done:
Posted Image

The leg is a little bit over 18 cm tall. The whole mech should be 32 cm says Pepakura

I love the details of this build. Although there are so much parts it is a pleasure when i put one piece to another and they fit perfect together. The whole mech looks so "3D" if you know what i mean :D

Nice. So the Atlas is roughly scaled at 1/40 which will look good next to the rest of the other paper mechs.

Any yeah. I get what you mean 3D. There are lots of bits standing with little flat surfaces.

Keep up the great build.

Only few pics of one complete leg.

The details cost time. And my neck hurts

Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

I think it takes not too long and the Atlas can stand on booth feets
