Let's Face Facts: This Game Is Dying. (Now With Totally Unbiased Poll!)

All of those options were available in NetMech...and MWO is just NetMech with prettier graphics.
Played the most fun game last night, when early on someone shouted a simple condition to everyone: "Take and Hold Kappa." Basically, King of the Hill (or King of the Crater, since it was there we all battled for Kappa.) And so we all played for Kappa. It was HOALOF.
My point being, if we had a lobby (and were dumped into it with VOIP built in to the game) a lot of gripes can be worked around and a lot more game scenarios could be thought out.
Also, it helps (IMHO) if *SOMEONE* in the drop would take command and drop markers on the satellite up-link map. It helps me, at least, to know WTF you're planning. Oh, BTW, I can't use TS: my MW persona is deaf and unable to speak audibly.

For those upset about the lack of CW:
It is coming and on the new features roadmap!
The roadmap is probably the earliest possible date. Most likely it's the date that they will start giving us more information about what they're working on.
It would be nice to know whether CW is just a word circled on a whiteboard somewhere or if there's actually some product being completed.

Almost no one plays 8v8. 4mans are a bit more common. Pugging you'll see the same name like 1 a month if even that.

You are an ***** plan and simple. If you are not happy with the game then stop playing it but sitting here QQing about it is not going to change anything and only get you trolled as you can see. The game itself is fine and it will be fine come launch. You seem to be very upset over the fact that they do not have the counter in game anymore to tell us how many people are on playing. Who cares how many people are playing?
Honestly if you are unhappy then stop playing until you see "the changes" you are looking for. You are complaining about their progress in beta ............ guess what considering they rushed to even get the game into beta to begin with in a year is amazing in itself. Any other company would of waited until they have most of the game together before even putting it to beta but PGI is letting us take the journey with them in development and instead of you being grateful you sit here and bash on the game. They could be doing what a lot of games do and just hand us big patches at a time with a bunch of content in it but instead are giving us what they make as they make it.
Stop being a child and either just play the game and enjoy the journey they are letting us go on with them or get the hell out of the game and come back when you feel the game is what you want it to be. Realize this though if you quit no one will no and no one will miss you.

You have some points which COULD have been objectively constructed and presented. Ultimately if you don't like what you see, offer constructive criticism in the applicable forums or find another game. Heck, you can even feel free to rant, but don't try to represent it as anything other than your own opinion.

There's a schedule for just this reason, that way everyone will know what to expect and be prepared.

Well I guess you're a clear case of people looking at the same thing and coming to completely different conclusions.
You see them 'allowing us to join them on a magical pony journey' (I may be paraphrasing here, its Friday night where I am, and I just got back from a stag night), while I see it as PGI rushing to find as many ways to squeeze income wherever they can regardless of the consequences to the health of the game.
Well no, actually, I'm frankly MORE worried they may have no idea what they're doing, who they're catering to, and what they want their end result to be.
Let me clarify: PGI is entitled to make money.
But if they decide to in a way some of us feel is less than desirable because they're doing so at the cost of running a stable and fun to play game, then guess what, people are going to complain, and you'll just have to live with it.
You want to rehash and bring out the argument of 'oh there were artists doing nothing, all these cosmetic item sales just happen to be something they could do concurrently' then fine. I'll reply with 'then you obviously effed up your project management bigtime, if you brought in that many artists but completely neglected to hire a network engineer until you realised there was a problem'.
Fact is, PGI are making a game. If they're currently making it so its managed to completely alienate a huge portion of their most dedicated players, then maybe they need to think hard about what they're doing. But like many have pointed out, as seen most recently in the laughable way they handled the ECM issue, they evidently have less than stellar ideas about how things should go.

Poll speaks for itself. And the fact you chose to pick on the argument rather than the points which may have merit speaks for itself as well. Plenty of others suffered through my OP, and still came up with relevant points. The fact you couldn't says it all really
Sidenote, cheers to the mods for helping keep the thread civil. I appreciate that while they locked quite a few other threads, they made the effort to prune and keep this one going.

1. I get the valley and peaks, but surely shouldn't players who are really into the game continue playing, unless things have really taken a turn for the extreme worst?
And if these 'hardcore' players so to speak are the ones currently drifting off, does this not indicate something has gone wrong somewhere?
2. Unless PGI plans to continually spend ridiculous amounts of money on marketing and advertising, surely this continued growth is unsustainable?
The only ones who really come back fingers crossed that content is better are the dedicated players. Casuals who dropped in to have a look will eventually find something that doesn't keep playing with their attention span so to speak. And casuals are the most expensive to keep getting since it relies on pure advertising.
3. From my first 2 points, if hardcore players are the ones who keep coming back, then surely its wiser to spend money keeping that audience at a sustained level of interest, rather than throwing money away to get people that are lukewarm about what you're selling anyway?
And if PGI know of this 'peak and trough' pattern, and they're still pursuing their 'get the casuals in' stance, surely we should be somewhat concerned?

and so far when pugging its hardly a second before i get into a match,
so from a lonewolf point of view game is far from dead yet.

Yea, well this founders tag is tired of the last pug match BS - I just dropped 5vs8 because 2 DC's on my side and 1 AFK. Not fun. Jumped on the forums instead of dropping again.
Its really frustrating this founder to have such unfair fights.

But it got nearly 10.000 views already, in two days
Maybe 25% of all players visit the forums regularly (i guess even less).
Cant be toooo bad
