That isn't what assault is about though. That is what they are looking to do with dropship mode whenever they decide to work on that (deathmatch basically) When people see the "Base is being captured" message pop up they panic, hence strategy. No one wants to have the loss on their screen because one tiny light mech capped your base while your team was out with gold in their eyes.
you're wasting your breath here they want dakka dakka. assault mode with bases just hinders them. this game is devolving into mech grudge matches and nothing else, it's like any other fps except in slow heatridden mechs. mechwarrior and the ideas of capture recon defense falls on death ears. it spoils their conquring point click skills. team play = gang up on those who can't gang up. stratagy = stay away from such and such, smother that guy! their brains can't handle looking after anything but themselves. for months we've had this same old grind of clashing with the odd sniping and when something finally different happens people **** all over it cause apparently a change of pace, a bit of fresh air spoils everything! conquest plays exactly like assault cause no one wants to miss out on g*ngb*ng wins so it's just like assault except you're more likely to be on a team that doesn't stick together and therefore loses. blob vs blob in lagfest that's all MWO is and all it ever will be.
