I realize that we're still in beta and some of this stuff may appear down the line but I still miss STORY; that feeling that each mission is linked and is a progression from the last. I saw a forum topic recently where the poster wondered why we don't start out in light mechs and progress as we gained experience and money to heavier and heavier assets. I don't think that philosophy fits well in the context of multiplayer but it makes perfect sense in a single player game. If nothing else it gives that feeling of progression that I'm missing.
I wish the devs would put back the good monetary and XP reward for base capping, but give those bases TEETH. Surround them with automated laser turrets and missile batteries...nothing crazy: small to medium lasers and LRM5s. That would stop single light mechs from just rushing up for an easy cap but would also give another source of mission cash and XP.
Let me reiterate: I know this is beta and many of these elements may end up in the game eventually. I just wish someone out there in dev-land would see some money making potential in making Mechwarrior 5!
