Unfair Fights

In all seriousness, if you can somehow convince them that bunkering up, limiting incoming fire angles, and focusing down targets is a better idea then bum rushing a numerically superior force, you can pull off some crazy easy wins, even if totally outnumbered. Mech walks in, it explodes. Mech walks in, it explodes. Two mechs walk in, one is blocked by his buddy so cannot shoot, first one explodes then the other. Glorious.

I am tired of unfair fights. Any fight that is not Same # vs Same # is unfair. 8v8? Fine. 8v7? Lame.
What is the road map for fixing this? How do you deal with it when it happens to you?
PS: Yes, i was just in a 8v5. 2 DC's on my side, plus 1 AFK. I support this game, with real cash. I just want to have fun, not get stomped by unfair teams.
I love it when we end up with 1 or 2 disconnects on my team and still win. More often I lose, but them's the breaks, kid
And, really, I'd love to hear your proposals for how to ensure no disconnects, accidental or otherwise, on both teams, for the whole match, on any given hardware and network connection, to where there would never be an imbalanced drop.
I'd be all for it never happening, but it is going to happen.

So relax and accept the fact that while they can reduce this sort of thing somewhat, it's never going to go away completely. That's just one of the things you have to accept about online gaming.

Please go repost this thread in an Electronic Arts game forum. I suggest Battlefield Bad Company. Please report to us what the results are. I can't be bothered to type anymore than this in reply to your whining about a Metaverse Open Beta, that is testing PVP team based mech-simulator combat, where multiple builds all have defined doctrine roles and the developers need game engine stress feedback.
TLDR: Get out.

It was quite enjoyable to tear up the overconfident enemy team. I got 4 Kills and 1K+ damage/exp in my Twin LBX (What? That's a terrible weapon! Can't kill anything!) Atlas-D.
TLDR: Matches are never even.

Oh wait, let's just be patient and wait for full implementation before complaining. Seems like a more constructive idea.

Most of the time disconnects are the games fault. Black or yellow screen (happens alot less after the last patch), 4fps bug, no HUD, map always coming onscreen. People who experience these bugs often disconnect.
Sometimes people also disconnect because their team is missing 1-2 players.
I think the number of these disconnects will lower with every bugfix.
What shouldn't happen is that a game starts while a team is still waiting for members. There should be a check to make sure both teams are full before starting the counter.
And there should be a 30 second window for players to leave the game if they have a bug and a 60 second window where missing players are filled up.
Afk players are a different problem.
It really happens often that the afk player is piloting a heavy or assault mech, putting its team at a disadvantage.
What really makes me mad are the people who suddenly come to life when they are the last ones alive or if they take damage.

The last statement is the one that really gets me. Here you are one to one but you got some goof that went on line with no intention of playing. that takes the drama out of the game. as far as balance lol that will be here later as other thing s are fixed. At this point I take the biggest or smallest shut your mouth shaft. Old song but make a point. 7 super mechs and us with a balanced group lol splat. Its sort of funny when you thing and learn from it. if other groups take big ones then well? It will be balances in the end but for now have fun be thankful what was the name of that 200 ton mech? I hooked up last night with another raven and when it was with no help we had 4 piles of scrap metal. See size isn't everything.

What are PGI doing about it? Everything they can in as expedient a manner as they can manage. But the fixes we want take time.
With that said, it's worth pointing out that the situation with DCs and AFKers has improved tremendously over the past few patches, thanks to changes in the reward system. There are now far fewer people choosing not to play in order to exploit the system, so progress is being made. Progress will continue to be made, and the imbalance issues will get better.
