I have a simple suggestion that I feel would help with the balance of the game, namely speed based torso twisting.

From a mechanical standpoint it seems strange that a heavier mech can rotate it's torso at the same rate of speed as a faster lighter mech can. Generally it takes a much greater amount of energy to rotate a heavier amount, and rotating such weight at high speed generates inertial force that ought to rend some of these mechs upper torso from their legs. Heavier mechs should rotate at a slower speed, both from a standpoint of physics and a standpoint of gameplay.

From a gameplay standpoint it seems imbalanced that a mech can be outfitted with far heavier armor & weaponry and yet can be effective against speedy mechs at great range due to their ability to keep pace via twisting their torso at incredible speed. In reality an assualt mech should have great difficulty tracking & firing against a light mech with non-targetting based weaponry. It's one of many reasons why you encourage a balanced mech lance instead of all assault mechs.

Also in terms of actual, referenceable gameplay, while not looking to do a comparison in terms of what game is better Mechassault on the Xbox limited the twist rate based on the speed of the vehicle to great effect. It was an extremely well balanced game due in large part to this.

Additionally this would also render more or less irrelevant the joystick vs mouse argument, as the reason a mouse is currently favored is due to it's ability to quickly target (mostly due to the ability to torso twist as fast as you can move your mouse).

Heavier mechs move slower, and should twist at a slower rate as well. Just my $0.02.

It's tough enough dealing with the lights in a heavy, and you want to make it harder!?!?

you must be a jenner pilot.

This is already the case in this game. Larger mechs do not twist as fast as light mechs .
